I think this thread is getting a little off topic. The climate change debate is one that can not be won, which is why I try to dampen these types of discussions. There's no point to the thread, it wont ( and shouldn't ) change anyones mind on the subject.

My view?

I do believe in the scientific process, peer review, and credible sources, like 100 years of BOM data, or Nasa observations. Youtube and Facebook are not a credible sources, but unfortunately that's where most people get their hard data. Any goose can throw together a web site that shows so called facts, either for or against the current science, but its not credible. CSIRO, NASA, BOM are credible.

I do think the possibility, the threat, deserves action. What if the threat is real? We invest huge funds into defence, just in case. Why not the environment, just in case. Its a growth industry, with lots of potential. Even if all the science is wrong, if we just lift our heads out of the sand and take action, we would end up with a better place to live anyway, especially for our children.

And the fact is we don't need to do that much. Many of us have already made the changes needed, its no big deal.

Now I would like to see this thread get back on topic.

hope Anteror has weathered the storm.
he recently posted regarding germany's remarkable growth in renewable energy.
I'm curious as to how they managed to be so progressive.

the use of hydrogen gas is of interest to me .
electric cars may not work so well in the cold .
it was -15C and -20C all last week. -9c today.

Antero,

thanks for your optimism and links to what humans can do if we apply our intelligence.
Science managed to explain the Northern lights phenomena after generations of non scientific explanations or folklore.

Your county looks amazing in winter and one day I hope to visit.Have a great Christmas with seasons greetings to all members of this forum, who's exchanges have helped pass the time and educate me at the same time.

Best wishes from Melbourne Australia.

Thank you Jarbar !

This all discussion so far, has been very complementary, to us all.

WE just trow seeds in the wind

I know, I am related to Indians

Perhaps.. I am the last of the Mohicans

I see in my dreams every time of better times and there is always a big and
old tree in my dreams..
That tree will give us all hope.

I hope you all trow seeds in the wind

OLD woodman(that I really am and have builbed altogether 22 houses from wood, during my life)

Tree beard..

Somenthing in my dream(s)..
We really WILL get together with the nature, in a way that
is very unexpected from any means, that we understand now.

Hope this will come true very.. soon !

Or last of the trees

Happy birthday.

Age catches up with all of us.

Late last year I applied for the age pension. Gawd!! I never thought the day would come. One way or another, sooner or later we all come together with nature.

Your 60 years young, Antero. Happy birthday from NQ of OZ. Yes that tree has seen many more storms then you as the rock just a little over there has seen many more storms then the tree.

The tree is but an apprentice to that rock. I share with all us elders the below poem.

---------- CRANKY OLD MAN

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in an Australian country town, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.

Later, when the nurses were going through his meagre possessions, They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

One nurse took her copy to Mel bourne . The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas editions of magazines around the country and appearing in mags for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.

And this old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the Internet.

Cranky Old Man

What do you see nurses? . . .. . .What do you see?
What are you thinking .. .. when you're looking at me?
A cranky old man, . . . . . .not very wise,
Uncertain of habit .. . . . . . .. .. with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food .. . .. . . and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice . .'I do wish you'd try!'
Who seems not to notice . . .the things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . . .. .. . . A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not . . . .. lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . ... . .The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking?. .Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse ..you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am . . . . . As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, .. . ... . as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten . .with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters .. . . ... . who love one another

A young boy of Sixteen . . . . with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now ... . .. .. .. a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty . . . ..my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows .. . ..that I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now . . . . .I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty . . . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . .. With ties that should last.

At Forty, my young sons .. .have grown and are gone,
But my woman is beside me ... . to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, .. ..Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children . . . . My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me . . . . My wife is now dead.
I look at the future ... . . ... . I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing . . . young of their own.
And I think of the years . . . And the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man . . . . . . .. and nature is cruel.
It's jest to make old age ... . . . . . . look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles .. . . grace and vigour, depart.
There is now a stone .. . . where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass . A young man still dwells,
And now and again . . . . . my battered heart swells
I remember the joys . . ... . . .. I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living . .. . . . . . life over again.

I think of the years, all too few . . .... gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people ... . .. . . . . open and see.
Not a cranky old man ..
Look closer ... . . .. see . .. . . ..... . ME!!

We come from the land downunder.

Thank you Norcold !
We have some friends in Australia and my wife and I
have exported from here one of Australians most winning greyhound(kennel Rantalaukka and you can found her in Facebook Sari Rantanen) (Kristine Coralluzzo in Australia) and we have here also many imported Australian Greyhounds from her etc (not for running, but for our member of the family and show Dog)
If you ever come to Finland, you are very welcome, to taste our mushrooms..

Special thanks for the words of very old and cranky man !

NOW I know what I will say and think in my final "walk about"..
Very comforting and in the same time very realistic (and horrifying..)

I hope, I have a lot of paths to walk about.. ahead yet,
but you never know
My father completed his license for the driving with all the tests
with just one try, in the age of 94..

But back to this time, here and now;

I think this forum has now a new meaning.

New discussion about BIG wind power etc

When I started my own small wind power here, my meaning was big and
I knew that this will grow and be the only solution to all of us
to come.

Population is over 7 billion now in this planet and growing very fast and
so is the living standard and energy need.

THERE really is no any other solution than pure and pollution free
solar and wind power.

Now we have these Saudi princes thousands of them flying with their
private jumbo jets with platinum water taps etc

Soon they will ride on camels again and be very poor nomads and I hope
wall street stock market players and bankers, too..

That is why there is NSA and all those spying systems, because just
0,1- 1 percent owns everything.. NOT for terrorism , but for
keeping business as usual..

Our common consciousness is rising steadily.

That really will make the chance and that is what THEY are afraid of..

Nothing will stop that and it will be like the East Berlin wall, what will
collapse, no matter what..

All the impossibilities will be broken in the pressure of time and WE
ALL are that pressure and this forum is a big part of that, too !

Just continue to discus and share knowledge.

I will do my own part in this with Finnish so called "sisu" that means,
with very strong and unyielding will.

I have a hourglass in my table, near my computer that says;
"England expects that every man will do his duty"
It is a very old antic hourglass and been in many battles and storms
in a war sailing ship.

We have a war in this matter now.

Winning this and we have a good and sustainable life to our children
and generations to come !

This a duty of our generation !

Antero

Hi Antero.

Harvard USA is working on a new energy storage system.
It's is a different sort of battery without metal.
A natural molecular (chinonen ) flow proces suitable for high energy storage.
Looks it can be charged with wind and solar, and we take energy on demand.
Environmental friendly.
That can become a world wide revolution.
No longer dependent on oil, energy companies, political manupulation.
Better future for next generations.
Oil and gas wells zero value.

Hi Antero,

Comments got a bit off topic, questions are still hanging in the air as to the price for us Aussis for those Chinese turbines you are spruiking (advertising). One chap did not get a reply, another had his price "gazumped" or increased five fold. Perhaps you were the lucky first in Suomi (Finland) and they gave you a good price??!

And remember, read the other comments on this forum re wind farms and MOBIs problems. We can understand your enthusiasm as we have built our own mills but, you will find in life, there are always two sides to the coin. And read my comments re Germany and December 2013, where millions of solar PV produced nothing and wind produced nothing either, relying for 95% on coal, oil, etc. for base load.
Taxation as a means of achieving prosperity is like a man standing inside a bucket trying to lift himself up.

I have tried to answer to any question and will answer.
I appreciate, that the forum administrator has given me the opportunity
to write about my experiences to this forum.
It has gone off topic many times..
But we need open discussion about all this and this forum is a good place to that,
as we see in many other.. discussions here too !

You can get this wind generator, that is mentioned in this story,
with a reasonably price directly from;

http://www.huayaturbine.com/

OR built your own with very good experiences from this forum and many others.
My only goal is just to get everything started and people thinking..

There is a temporary step in energy change, where we must use coal etc,
but all the time it is getting better and there is a HUGE competition
going on in this, ALL over the world.

This is the duty of our generation
to solve all this and have pure and pollution free energy to our children
and generations to come.

Possibilities for this we have !

Antero

I'm with you Antero and admire greatly what you have achieved. This article in The Age newspaper shows how human innovation is rapidly closing the gap on current energy production systems. My children's futures are paramount.

Thank you Jarbar.

Antero

PS
So much to DO !
And so little time to ACT..
That is the REAL question, as we ALL know and very.. VERY well indeed !!

100km X 100Km area gets enough solar energy for whole humankind, for whole
year in JUST one day..in Sahara desert.(or in Australia.. etc)
We could make solar power to hydrogen and ship it to every place
with hydrogen powered tanker ships and the only
pollution, waste.. in this mater would be exactly and only JUST = WATER !

JUST..too good, in our existing economy, based in oil, coal.

OR is it ?

WE COULD SOLVE ALL this, with JUST.. 0,1% what we use in in weapon spend
and weapon development etc

There is just no business like weapon business, but also no business like
new.. energy need business in this time, for all of us, to just survive !

Here some..

Mercedes Benz and BIG boys.. others are developing this with BIG hand in Germany,
this with VERY REAL solutions and hundreds of hydrogen stations in just few years..NOW.

HERE;

http://green.autoblog.com/2013/10/02/daimler-others-promise- 100-hydrogen-stations-in-four-years/

Toyota tries to..;

http://phys.org/news/2014-01-toyota-hydrogen-powered-car.htm l

http://www.autonews.com/article/20130930/OEM05/130939997

Honda has developed this for a long time, for every home use.
Here some pictures with links about that;

https://www.google.fi/search?q=honda+hydrogen+station&tbm=is ch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=HWntUpjTLcayyAOutYHADA&ved=0CEs QsAQ&biw=1440&bih=785

ETC

SO.. IS ? there is anything anymore to say your children, because ? and why ?
after reading THIS

WE need no polluting batteries with VERY polluting mining industry and
rare minerals, we need JUST water and wind and solar power.

That we have !

NEW "weapons" for survival to us primates, so called "humans" !

There is also so many opportunities to make energy from wood, waste etc
without any pollution.
(to make it hydrogen.. with high temperature and efficient burning systems)
You can get a LOT of energy from wood etc with this gasification, combustion
burn system.

Here some examples from here, made in Finland;

You can get energy from wood however it is not viable for large scale use. During WWII many vehicles where run on wood gas and any forest that was accessible was stripped of dry wood till it was getting hard to find.

I am using wood to power a generator as a backup to solar power. Fortunately I can get wood chips for free, 200 litres of dried chips will run my generator for 6 to 8 hours produce 3.5 KW.
There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't.

BEST advice I have never seen, is this !
My wife said to me in very young age, that THIS is not training..
This OUR life !
THAT was what.. I never forgot and we are together after 40 years
of marriage.
These few words have made a lasting impact to my life and also
to everything, that I begin to think, built, write etc

THIS really is no practice to our whole humankind, too.

THIS is our life here and NOW, with our children..

SO ?

Antero,
Your wife is very wise. That is good advice. The best advice I received as a young fellow, was "not to take life too seriously, you cannot get out of it alive".
Very difficult to follow but true, I try to run that trough my mind once or twice if I get too serious.
We come from the land downunder.

Russian beat..

AS you ALL know.. .. there IS no BUSINESS, like weapon business.

THERE has been numerous diversions that we have seen, in our history..
this one of them, AGAIN !!

IT was really (in DEED..) ? too peaceful and money begin to go..

BUT now, it is starting to go AGAIN, to weapons !

NEWS are JUST.. news nowadays, as you know !

Biggest weapon sellers in order, are; USA, Russia, China..

Just wondering..
