Thank you Isaiah !
I did not get the story open, but I found it after search from Cleantechnica pages.
It is very interesting.
100% with renewable energy..

http://cleantechnica.com/2013/11/20/game-changing-battery-st orage-company-germany-younicos/

The same news in Reneweconomy;

http://reneweconomy.com.au/2013/the-battery-storage-system-t hat-could-close-down-coal-power-38259

In Germany the major electricity generators account for just 7 per cent of the renewable energy that now makes up nearly one quarter of the county’s electricity production. The rest has come from farmers, households, communities and small business.
So, nearly everybody in Germany is energy producer and gets benefit of that !

In this matter we ALL are in the point, as we where in the computers
in the earlier times.. Commodore 64 was the first home computer.

That was no risk for any state or energy company etc..

Now we have tablets and 3g.. 4g etc and everything in our lifes is
actually defined, by all this.

It ALL beginned in silicon valley and there garages.

NOW we all use that, in our everyday life.

But as we all know, there was a special moment and the silicon valley of wonder, as well as a special spirit, to do all that.

This is also our special moment, to solve our energy matters, like that.

But we need somebody special.. to do that ?

This our moment.

Waiting ?

The personal computer was invented by Xerox, as was the mouse and pull down menus. However Xerox decided in their great wisdom that there was no market for the personal computer. So 2 people who worked for Xerox had a bit more vision than the Xerox executives, one of these guy's passed away not that long ago. You will all have heard of the company the created.

Xerox eventually had to be bailed out by Fuji. Those companies and politicians that are stuck in the mode of burning coal and oil will fail too. Lets just hope it happens before it is too late.

lets forgive our ancestors for thinking the world was so big nothing we did could effect it. 200 gigatons of co2 have been released since the discovery of fossil fuel. it will be a 100 years before the effects are fully felt.
nothing we can do to change that now but we can change our attitudes.
we can realize how powerful our technology really is. that we can change the atmosphere and the temperature of the planet.or we can contaminate oceans and continents with radioactive materials.

some where along the line , i think it was after the world wars, people were convinced that the only thing to do with their live was to consume material goods
i don't believe capitalism is going to be able to help us with the difficulties that are coming our way for the next 4 or 5 generations.
i suggest humans start planting trees all over the world as if our lives depended on it.'cause our lives depend on it. something called permaculture got started down there in Australia . it seems like a great idea to make the world a lush and productive place.

"Heaven and Earth" by Ian Plimer(OZ Geologist), goes back into earths history and puts an alternative tilt to mans effect on our climate. It has been a hard slog read (ongoing) for me. I`ve got page corners bent over all through, going back and forth and trying to understand the "science". Can not sum up the book but only suggest "have a read".

I agree that our world must be reafforested and certainly our attitudes to ecology must change. As for replanting trees willy nilly, I'm not so sure. Our planet's lungs used to be (and largely, still is) rain forests where there is a much reduced risk of fire. Unfortunately, many of these rain forests are owned by third world or "emerging" countries who see the trees as an economic tool only. Forests in temperate climates are very prone to lightning related fires undoing all the good work of planting the trees. Reafforestation would have to be carefully managed world wide.

Then, on top of it all, we need to reduce the world population. It can not keep growing for ever.(Moral dilemmas). Meanwhile, we are doing all we can to find medical cures to prolong life and ways to feed the starving millions.

We are sitting on a "biological atomic bomb" just waiting critical mass. Who know what catastrophe we are facing in future generations. We can only wring our hands and speculate, I wonder??

Mean while, back on topic, it is very windy here today and the solar part of our off grid system has shut down, and the 500watt Chinese made wind turbine is producing more than the power we need. Happy here.

The medical experts are worried about super bugs. Could be that mother nature will take care of the Homo Sapien plague as has happened before. However now a virus could spread to most parts of the would in a few weeks.

Now we have AGAIN a new big storm here in Finland.., it is called as
"Oskari" storm. (After todays name day, in our calendar).

I just looked the failure statistics, in our main power grids and
again.. there is without power nearly the same reading as we had two weaks
ago in the "Eino" storm.

When I looked the neighbourhood and I can see the nearest town "Uusikaupunki",
You can not see any light sources.. exept I have

Power is coming in, from windpower and I have connected more floor heating
elements !

This is fourth or fifth storm that is here in my place, in just 2-3 weaks time, now
that has windspeeds over 21-24M/s.

The average wind speed is here now over 20M/s and in gusts the wind speed is
32-34M/s = 71,5 - 76 Mph

This storm sounds worse than Eino storm, because coming from a litle
other direction. Sounds like jumbojet landing..
This is scary and I have experience about sailing and lived here in seashore,
but this REALLY.. is something else.

You can not go outside, bacause trees look like they are just falling down and here in the seaside they have seen storms for centuries, but nothing like this..

Knock.. knock the wood and the head, that this is not getting worse.

In the news here, again.. nothing is happening

Here in Finland we have the biggest power company called Fortum.
Our state owns majority of it.

They give options 500 million Euros every year to the leaders.

As you know.. , it is very challenging.. ?? to sell power to households,
that Fortum has exclusivity and monopoly.

They have not put any money at all to the grids maintenance etc and now they are
at reduction mode.

Just with one or two years option moneys, they could maintain the grids
they own, but nothing have been done.
They said, out of the entire maintenance staff, thousands of people, to save money for their options

Now every storm is making big damages and storms are getting worse and worse !

Same story we have, all over the world.
Exept, in Germany !

There is people.. and "people" as we see, in this writing;

http://cleantechnica.com/2013/11/27/solar-power-war/

HOW can these kindof "people" sleep ??

Here in Finland even school children are using sleeping pills and pills
for antidepressant and A LOT of them !
Children.., know everything and without any lies, as we know !

As we all know there has been, very bold people in our world history, to make the change.
Nelson Mandela.
Mahatma Gandhi.

The collapse of the Berlin Wall.

Etc

Nothing is as great power, as our common knowledge.

ALL.. the walls and dams will be broken.

ALL the impossibilities, in our history, have been broken.

So.. litle options, BUT so much solutions !
Solutions to be, or NOT to BE ?
That is THE REAL.. question ?

,I am thinking of you and your family and worry this type of event is becoming more common.Have just spent a day in Canberra with our politicians and in most meetings it was evident that they don't really get how serious the problem is.We have one million homes in Australia with solar PV now but it's twenty years too late.Hoping we get to ten million quickly. If only we had more leaders like you.

Regards

nothing happens when diplomats and fossil fuel lobbyists are in charge of climate change conferences.
the oil companies that run my country just don't care if we keep getting the dinosaur prize.
even the Egyptians are getting worried

I congratulate Antero for his thought provoking thread re wind/solar etc. Am sure it raises the bar for some and will encourage all to look a bit deeper at what each of us can do.
But I quote, and this a comforting reminder to those who have received a Spirit of understanding and to others something to think about.

"Gen.8:22 While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease."

And do think there is a bit of wriggle-room in there for climate change.

Kind regards to all and have a wonderful Christmas.

Plenty of wiggle room for climate change.

In mans complete history on Earth if you backed all doomsayers, you`d be a 100% loser. Tis hard to lose 100% of the time but we wouldn`t be here if it weren`t so.

http://edition.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/world/2013/12/05 /seg-europe-weather.cnn.html

They are JUST smiling....
News are.. news ?
Everything must go as "usual" and bisnes as usual.

This is not funny here ??, at all, when winds are 40-50Ms = 89,5 - 119 Mph

I will give you more news about this, later.

In our neighbouring countries they have announced the state of the highest
emergency; get your children at home just NOW and stay inside !

All the bridges are closed, so is all train lines, ferry lines..
Etc

I have made some special arrangements, throughout the daylight hours and

Antero,
Good luck coming through that storm,
We had some hi winds here in Southern Michigan U. S. A. a short time back and they are no fun we were out of grid power for 6 hrs some were out 6 days.
Last Night when I went to bed at 1:30am it was 56 deg f this mourning at 6:30 it was 36 now at 8:30 its 28 and they say its going to get near -0- this weekend.
I use a home made head lamp at night also this one we converted to LED to extend battery life.
I dont have much use for main stream media. its better to get the news off the forums where people post the truth!
Look back at page 5 the same thing on November 18 2013,
You had a lot worse but we both had bad weather changes.

Storms felling trees in our eucalyptus plantation (60,000 trees hand-planted)and these storms have not been seen by a local farmer in the last 20 years. Two years ago in the SW corner of Western Australia we had the lowest rainfall in 40 years.

It is obvious that even a slight rise in temp is going to put a few more Terawatthours of energy into the atmosphere.

i live in the most southern part of Canada . the surest tell of climate change i have heard of is farmers saying they are getting on their fields a week earlier and able to harvest a week later . two weeks longer growing season is huge as the limiting factor around here is the number of frost free days.

I have lived in the south east of South Australia for 65 years (41 years on the land) and although I have seen climate cycles, I see nothing yet I could honestly call climate change trend. Maybe climate change is a local thing rather than global?

I'm not denying climate change for it has been happening since the world began but I do get a bit ho hum when the slightest extreme weather condition or bush fire is unquestionably blamed on climate change.
