Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Anthony, I saw that last night as well, but it is a different issue than what I found. So it seems two small bugs with LIST, but I can live with them.

Looking at the wish list, color is top of the list (wish 11) and NTSC is number 11 (wish 25). I suppose the votes can speak for themselves. BTW wish 33 is number 2 on the list, it can be removed as it is for the AUTO command.Edited by Greg Fordyce 2011-10-12

However in the US, you will have trouble finding a set that is anything but NTSC only.

I have noticed newer ones touting PAL support. But there are still a lot of sets around without it. And frankly a lot of tube TVs that, like the home computer revolution of the 80s, can be pressed into service as a monitor for the MM.

My personal need is because I have a modulator input to my system that is NTSC. This way all of the TVs that I have can be tuned to a channel that displays information from the MM.

If it isn't implemented as a feature of the language, I would be happy just to know what would change in the source code to implement NTSC. Perhaps a compilation option.

Hi,

You can get pal/ntsc encoder chips pretty cheaply and easily, they will take usually an RGB or YUV signal and a timing signal and will output either pal or ntsc as an option, you could easily take the rgb I think from the VGA output and since that is already running at 60Hz it should be fairly easy to encode to NTSC. I did a quick google search and there are a couple of sites with some schematics.

Also you can get really cheap and nasty consumer transcoders these days for not allot of money and considering it is a simple BW low rez image they would probably give quite acceptable output.

I'm sure there are all sorts of hardware solutions. Not what I care for.

Hi,

Kinda silly not to have NTSC params.
There are a LOT of them out there.
Maybe a BASIC command rather than
a hardware pin?

Wiz

p.s.- FWIW my heat gun dependent breadboard was
'fixed' with a short leaded tant. gumdrop cap.
Goodbye heatgun!

Wish 13: Auto Renumber Lines
Wish 33: Auto Line Number Input ie: Auto 100,10 Syntax or default 10,10

Thanks Greg,

I haven't kept right up with things recently.

Does this cover both 13 and 33?

Cheers Don...

As far as I understand, Geoff is going to release this in conjunction with a Silicon Chip Magazine article.
