Quote  I see, you are a lot more experienced than myself. I am one of those DIY types you talk about, although I would never be calling in any outside help.

Do we need to label people "more experienced" or as DIY Types , isn't it all about a collective of opinions and experiences to then help others and being here is a form of being helped and helping.

I asked the question a few pages back about LV DC disconnect / reconnect and the associated failure of cheap and or expensive inverters that give no thought to looking after what should be held as the primary function in an off-Grid or Hybrid system PROTECT THE BATTERIES AT ALL COSTS. I would see 16 ~ 20 K easily as being a average cost of a decent size storage bank and if they are LA , FLA , Gell - Lithium if you treat them correctly you will get a very good life is a no brainer. And I am sure that most here are fully aware of that.
And Hatts of to those who make systems from second hand batts at low costs, it would be a lot of work to keep up with cell failure, and LV values would need to be lower for peak loads.

So to me and probably yahoo and others see Battery protection is Important and yea it can be done in a many ways. Internally would be the best if possible.

On another note I am starting gathering all my parts and the parts from clockmans list seems to be missing some items and I found the list you put together Gary. I have a bit trouble absorbing info all bundled into one sentence or blob and like a bit more space & order.

I have put this together and some here want to add or remove can be easily edited by copping using quote function, the 13V Zenner is a hard one to find , is it correct.

There are different versions of the EG8010 chip, this is the correct one.

Its a dynamic project. And others have gone off in slightly different directions. Getting everything together and sourcing is always problematic at the very beginning.

Here's my latest, Mid July 2016, published lists.

e cores if you are not going to scavenge them.

there is a led next to the 12mhz crystal on the control board

there will be a separate parts list if you build a fan controller

the 4410 TO-220 is a buy in bulk and check/grade them for the inverter.
I think you are still short some of the other items on the power board

Yahoo2, that is the Overtemp On/Off model.

This is my latest Mid July 2016. Pin 6 on/off amendments. But those 2 off TIP35 now have Heat sinks.

I will re-print the PCB Supplement glossy photos to show the New.

thanks clockman. I see an extra led and the jumper pins have moved as well.

I was using the photo to mentally tick things off Phill's list.

I noticed Oz had put a heatsink across both TIP35 and I wondered if they had been shuffled around on the PCB so they line up.

no, I think the problem might be our end, my pic thought about the server request for 15 seconds before uploading started. I checked the page code and the image file is missing for your JPG.

Yes, both TIP35 on that new board, now line up.

I have put these heat sinks on, readily available and cheap.

The French authorities here are blocking some Aus sites, so I use a Proxy server in Germany.
However my French Satellite system sometimes throws stuff out if its slightly largish.

I will try again but size down a bit?

The main Capacitors , this is a pretty odd ball size[ 100V 10000UF Electrolytic (Can) Capacitor 35mmX60mm (B88) AR, (6 off).] Surely it can be the most common100V 10000uF 35 x 50mm

The 6off Big Caps 100v 10000uf seem to get smaller these days, or operating limits are being pushed.

As long as they are 100v 10000uf.

Watch the diameter, so there is air flow around them when the heatsinks are either side of them. I have seen some odd ball diameter sizes.

Just trying to get everything needed in one place . I have some items that are in question and need clarifying .

The Listed 13V Zenner ( 1 x 13v (1.3W) Zener Diode, BZX85C5V6 ) Can it be given a link or explained as I can not find anywhere where it can be bought. Take the 13V out and its easy. Is the 13V a typo for 1.3 or can it be explained further Done ( 1 x 13v (1.3W) Zener Diode, BZX85C5V6 )

- These capacitors .... Monolithic Ceramic Chip Capacitor 475 4.7UF 50V 20% 5.08mm Pitch , Clockman says No to these as OZ you were particular about a specific type of Ceramic and these are not suitable Kemet Ceramic Capacitors 4.7UF 50V 20% Link

Are the ferrite beads for the TO220 package necessary ?
Quote   Thanks yahoo & mad , had this saved in edit mode and changes made , its just the Ceramic Cap and unsure of the all V Regs

the part number looks wrong, that is for the 5.6v zener. I would change it to BZX85C13 and do a search.

yes it is right, we are getting 12 volts from the TiP35C transistor in the top left corner of the PCB, the 13Volt zener and the 10K resistor help make it happen and that 12 volts is routed to Vss (pin 13 and pin 9?) on both of the IR2110.
I think the IR2110's have the only 12 volt connections on the board. Everything else is 5 volt from the other TiP35C.Edited by yahoo2 2016-07-17

Hi OZ, Clockmafr, Mad and everyone

please can someone clarify how the back charging works using the eg8010 chip.

my questions are

1. what provides the boost synchronous rectification signal
2. how does the eg8010 knows there is grid voltage present.

thanks.

please just curious to know this.

@ OZ can u please expatiate further on this.

Quote  It can drive it up further than that if it wants.

We are using a heap of 22khz square waves for the synchronous rectification when we are reversing.

I think that we are really making the rectifier-transformer relationship behave as a boost converter.... as it is a switching rectifier. ( square wave synchronous rectification)

It has no problem doing it and I have put 5kw or more backwards without problem... seems very efficient too.

Thats my best guess anyway.

.............oztules

thanks.

Thanks M & Y,

Changes were made as it was saved in edit, if I can get the clarification on the Caps in Question and not sure why all of the V Regs are needed as I can not see them in any of Clockman's sheets but were on Mad's List ??

Anyway thanks and I can only hope that it makes it easier for the next and so on .
