Mac,

I am just about ready to make my first set of blades. I plan on leaving 6 inches at top and bottom free of the spar since these will be tested for a VAWT, single arm from hub/rotor to center of spar, 4 Blades 48" tall 6" deep spar 2" in from leading edge spar will be a 1"X2" pine. On another note, where do you get your coroplast from? I got lucky and found a sign maker who was willing to sell me a 4'X8' sheet for $28, but am hoping to find a better deal when I am done testing. These three I just made today will be going on a (very) small axial-flux generator. The magnet wheels are only 4 1/2 inches in diameter, using 6 pairs of 1" N52 neo magnets and a new stator design I cooked up (details when it works!). I expect this little windmill to turn around 500 rpm no load!

Have you made the little axial-flux genny yet? interested to know if it worked?

would you mind sharing the basic design you were thinking of for the stator?Edited by Xmaswiz 2011-06-16
