Thanks for the heads up Lizby

my first question to claude this morning got COM11 open can you see it, I had teraterm open so got asked to close it then it was in and controlling Board 2

So I just had to hookup Board 1 on COM7 and now he's on doing a cleanup so both the boards are in sync

I'm like a kid in a candy shop where I've gone from 50 sdcard swaps to no manual work so once all this is setup it should be a good day developing that 3D Model Editor

Ain't it grand? I'm sure my monthly subscription price is not paying for a fraction of the cost of what I'm getting out of AI, but "get it while you can".

My view of the utility of AI is very much limited by whatever skill sets I already have, but I'm inclined to think that those who discount the overall utility mostly just haven't gotten deeply into it.

And it's expanding the scope of what I might attempt--next up, smd soldering on some moderately complex PCBs. Ok, lots of people can do it, but I've never handled a hot air gun, and wouldn't have if AI hadn't led me to some designs I'd like to try.

I just finished a two-day conversation with Claude and ChatGPT about heat pumps, with my final output (so far) being an email to the Nova Scotia Apprenticeship program leader about a two-month-old law in British Columbia allowing electricians (not just refrigeration-certified tradies) to install residential heat pumps with nameplate draws under 5kWh (which covers 12,000, 18,000, 24,000, and even 32,000 BTU mini-splits). He said he hadn't heard of that, but was sure it would come up in the future. And another email to Senville, a Canadian heat pump manufacturer, about an upgrade which might save an hour or more of an installer's time.

Or another multi-day exploration which convinced me that there is nearly nothing which can practically be done militarily to prevent Iran from being able to shoot at and probably hit tankers attempting to transit the strait of Hormuz.

Or a what-if with respect to Cuba about what it would take to use solar to provide 10-20kWh daily to residences--to relieve the failing grid which has had 4 multi-day blackouts in the past two months and continual intermittent failures. (To be political for a moment, I'd love to see a Cuban government which allowed more economic and political freedom, but don't see that U.S. efforts have any institutional goals which would not result in the populace becoming a permanent underclass to U.S. hedge funds and wealthy Cuban Americans in the service of flocks of tourists and seasonal visitors.)

Well, we're only scratching the surface.
