I've tried making this an active link, but when I use the link button, it sends me to a Web site other than the one above. I'll figure it out in time, but for now you'll have to copy and paste; sorry. MacGyver, try playing around with the two buttons shown in the image below: 
BTW... if you edit your previous post and take your youtube link and you add (URL) (replace ( ) by [ ]) in front of it, and (/URL) (replace ( ) by [ ]) at the end of it, it'll magically become clickable. So just square brackets with the text URL and /URL ('end URL'). Using the buttons is easier though. Peter. |

I tried the buttons like eleventy-seven times and it just didn't work. It posted the code instead of a picture. Once it posted a link, but the link led to a page that said the Web site was offline for maintenance, however, I could get off the 4m and make the page appear, so it led me to believe I was messing up somewhere. Now that I look at your little picture (how'd you do that?), I see that I tried adding a link with the wrong button! I realize to everything, there is a learning curve, but mine is beginning to resemble a ski jump! I'll go back and try to establish the link. Thanks for the help. Nothing difficult is ever easy! When you then post (or even better, try 'previewpost' button next to the 'post' button, it should show the image or link. Glen That'd be a God-send! I'm running out of hair! Crew: I've actually tried all these tricks and it just plain does not work! I use a Mac and maybe that has something to do with it (but I doubt it). I have three other computers, but they are all Macs too, so I can't switch off to a PC to see if that's the problem. Aaaaaargh! Dinges: Of course the land sailer was invented by a Dutch man. Not only are we the tallest race; we're also the brightest! Dotsienze! Oh and for everyone else, the "Dutch" I use to converse with Dinges is more than likely grammatically incorrect as well as misspelled, but I'm sure he'll figure it out. Of course he will; he's Dutch! Thought you might be familiar with the expression. I meant to say I didn't invent gunpowder either. It's a common Dutch expression, equivalent of 'not being the brightest bulb in the pack': 'he didn't invent gunpowder'. Funny though. So many things we think of as 'new!' as that sailing car have already been invented centuries ago. If you're into steam, I assume you're also familiar with Heron. Peter. |

Hi All I am a bit slow finding this forum and so on the origional thread: I love the little car for oldies its a lot better than the things they have, from a safety and visibility point of view. I have been drooling over those little 300 watt wheel motors 3 of those on a recliner trike would be great only problem here is lots of gravel trucks. Mcguyver: something I picked up in your post a while back was a reference to horsepower of a stalled shaft, it is in effect zero, what you are reffering to is "Torque" Horsepower is the product of torque and rotational speed, to find horsepower you multiply torque in ft pounds by rotational speed in revs per min and divide the product by 5252 {formular constant} that equals horespower EG 100 ftlbs torque X 500rpm equals 50000 divided by 5252 equals 9.52 horsepower All the best Bob Foolin Around |
