Wow - cool story, Vic - nice one.
I am learning a bit of German, but these days, you can get by with a smartphone with access to Google Translate - no need to learn any language!

I was given a Marty Robbins CD (MP3 LOTS of tracks - many were M Robbins) We played it outback where there was no radio - and played it and......I think I've quite gone off M Robbins.

If I hear "the hangin tree" or "Rose's Cantina" any time soon, I'll scream!

Geez Vic, that sure brought back memories as a (big) kid when Chad Morgan and Tex Morton used to do the rounds of the country shows. Used to play a lot of Chad myself on the ole git fiddle..

Many thanks electrondaddy1, OZ day was extra great. We won a one dayer cricket match against the Poms, they had it in the bag. Poor buggers couldn`t get a thing right this summer. But that's cricket.

Well, I guess I should post this video here, as Ella comes from here in New Zealand.

This is somewhat an exclusive - I have NEVER heard the song, and I have NEVER seen the video, so I searched YouTube for the official video, and copied the link here.

So, what I will now do, having posted it, will be to actually watch the video and hear the song, and then I will write my comments back here.

Hmmmmmm.

Unimpressive, as far as I am concerned.

Sticks to one basic octive, overlays of electronic bass etc.

Still - credit where credit is due - she deserves the fame she now has, if that is what currently passes for music.

I guess I am too old-school.

Give me Deep Purple, Queen, DIO, Iron Maiden, Metallica, AC/DC, Cold Chisel etc....

As I mentioned above - probably not one of the songs I was going to fall in love with, what with my rock roots, but now at least I have actually heard the song and seen the video.

Still, I don't see what all the fuss is about!
