Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

You've been busy!

To return to the topic, I use an old Weller TC201 with a standard #7 tip for most SMD work and it's good enough. It's all in the technique.

Almost ... waiting for two SMD parts, a resistor and a cap. They both come from the same supplier so will arrive together. Real Soon Now.

the problem i am having is that the output from the cmos seems to float so it sits a little high before the maxi has time to run "autorun" so i think that i may need some pull down restors maybe a 4,7 k resistor from base to emmitter ore emmitter to gnd still thowing round ideas here but i` will work it out eventully ...regards spasrkey...

i know my prototype looks crappy... but .. here is the revised edition of the
switching cct with the anti thump relay cct... to give time for the maxi to run "autorun so the voltage does not run high with no load connected "basically a soft start for the inverter"

:what are you looking at :::ok a cmos 4013 flip flop driving "not inserted yet...two "bd-139" and a 5 volt reg for power and a relay time up switch....regards sparkey...........

and also three trimpots 1 meg for setting the reported voltage rais ...which are:5 volt :L:9 volt: and 36 volt rails under normal charging range the 36 volt rail floats around 40 point 5 volts but when the inverter is running its around 38 volts under load....regards..

...wait till u cop a belt of the back of a picture tube
crt .... much the same as chewing on a spark plug lead....

My own experience was during my apprenticeship working on colour TVs. Playing with the EHT, it got me. Like putting my hand on the bench and someone hitting my hand with a sledge hammer. That woke me up.

Keep the good work up Sparky, you are nearly there.

Know the feeling, wasnt a CRT but close, belted by the hv coil of the acceleration voltage on a mass spectrometer, arm was numb for the rest of the day

btw those photos of the boards on the bench looks like my workspace (without the system 80).
