Hi Kevin, Can i ask what sort of business you are in, and are you involved with export of products. It would be of interest to myself and maybe others to have a contact in China. As for electronic waste there is lots of that, mainly supplied from your mother country, but dont get me wrong as there is also a lot of good priced reasonable products that come from China, and i myself buy a lot direct from China. It is often a gamble on the quality, but econimical enough to take the risk. As has been well spelt out the quality of windmills, has been rather sub standard from those that have purchased Chinese products, im sure there is some of good quality but hard to find the supplier and the product. As for discarded shells .....well thats a subject we are not permitted to speak of, and would be of national interest. Pete. Sometimes it just works |

Hi Kevin You speak about Chinese windmill. Ok I have enough problems with my Chinese made Ceiling fan, replaced over the last 12 years because poor quality bearing failure including noise, seize up however, look at car alternator bearing spin around 2 to 7000 rpm for years until they wear out because high quality bearing is used. But Chinese made ceiling fans only spin approx 250 rpm in two month time and if the bearing fails again its going out of my back door and back to landfill which is full of broken Chinese made household electronic applications buried in our hole or off to scrap metal and back to China, India, Taiwan etc and start all over again So can you see what I mean Quality is not always there? Hi Dwyer You hit the nail on the head there as every thing that I have had trouble with was because of cheeeep Chinese bearings, but they do make good bearings there to, its the small mindedness of the accountants that put the lowest price / quality components in critical positions. This company makes all the turbines sold on Amazon.com in America and also supplies magnetsforless.com Excellent small turbines work straight out of the box virtually indestructable. I have 6 of them running here in the very windy Greek isles. the 600w model happily produces 900w in a gale. Now running 2 years non stop Nylon blades not fibreglass dosnt need to furl because the blades are unbreakable. Also completely silent. http://www.hyenergy.com.cn/ Pictures of my work here in Greece http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=mykonos%20solar%20wind&w=all |

It dosent furl because it has electrical braking built into it not because the blades strength. Pete. Sometimes it just works |

I have disabled the electrical braking. The chinese controllers are useless burn out almost immediately so the turbines are coneccted directly to the batteries through a 3 phase rectifier. all the installations have large battery banks and people living in the houses so overcharging is rarely a problem. We do get very strong winds here continuous 12 to 18 m/s all summer and gales in the winter. |
