Long distance from Epiq shopping centre Lennox Head to Coffs Harbour, 220km. So drove at 80km/hr. Found a safe stop to photo at 50% battery distance of 160km, so assume 320km range at this speed. However, this is not a correct assumption. At Coffs Harbour. North Coast Power and Water were closed when I arrived. Check plugshare website, found a type 2 was supposed to be at Coffs Central shopping centre. Spent ages looking for it. The phone number in plugshare listing was wrong. I asked a couple of small shop attendant's in the shopping centre but they didn't know. They said the other shopping centre has the Tesla chargers. Other side of town. Found them, but they are the Tesla super chargers, which I can't access. Went to the showgrounds but the caretaker was gone. I rang him and wouldn't come and unlock power for me. Checked plugshare again for any outlets further down the coast, but nothing. Decided to drive at 60km/hr and make it down to a friends place, where I intended to stop off anyway for the night. A cousin was also there. Talked until 10.30pm Anyhow, back to the range assumption. I drove a total of 291km. Batteries were as good as empty. Percentage wise, had 9% left, but single cell voltages were much lower than they should be. Edited 2023-03-08 10:47 by Trev Trev @ drivebynature.com |

Seems that charging stations have not quite caught up with the electric car movement. Having to chase about town looking for a charging station sounds problematic. Especially when there are none down the road further, within range. Hope you find plenty from Coffs to Sydney. Pete One day I want to have an electric car, but where I live I need 4wd or AWD, in winter. Ice and snow can be pretty slippery and we have plenty of ice in winter. Pete |

Can't remember what time I left Midcoast Council. Arrived at Cameron Park Plaza at 3.06pm Distance of 170km. Used 59% of battery. Only single phase but 32A, so can run 2 chargers, 40A to the battery. Everywhere else I could run 3 chargers, 60A to the battery. One fellow that came to chat, said he loves cars. Owns a high performance Tesla and a Porches Taycan. Figured he wanted a T-Rev too. Free charge. But only charged up to 80%. Edited 2023-03-09 08:21 by Trev Trev @ drivebynature.com |

I saw the adverts for the EV show and was thinking of going.... till I saw the $60 Entry fee! Call me tight arse or whatever but I think that's over the top especially for what is a trade show to try and sell people things! They would be hitting up stall holders for thousands each so seems like a big money grab by the organisers to me. I mentioned it to neighbour whom also initially said I'll come with you till I told him I wouldn't be going because of the price to which he said no, I wouldn't have gone either. That said, the local show is on week after that Prides itself on " still a country Show" wants $32 Ticket online only. 32bux to get in to pay $5 for a drinking cup worth of hot Chips, $5 can of coke, stupid priced rides, and other crap. I must be getting too old and even more Cranky. Would be interesting to hear your assessment on the changes you are seeing as far as the availability of Charging. I seem to recall having read your logs before that you got a lot more free charging? Is this coming to an end or just easier for you to pay for Power? Has you trip become better and easier with more chargers or are you not seeing much improvement? If you stop anywhere near Campbelltown on the way back let me know and I'll message you to see if we can meet up. Be interested to see your vehicle and shoot some pics of it. Hope the rest of your trip and the show goes well for you. |

PD, Yes tp left corner shows lowest and highest cell voltages. 2.61v. Yes, empty. Coffs Harbour is useless outside business hrs. Davo99, yes you can get my mobile number from the website on the side of T-Rev. Text me and maybe we can meet up somewhere. Trev @ drivebynature.com |

Day 5 It was a good catch up at my brother's place last night. Got there around 6pm if I remember right (really 5pm Qld time). Talked until 10.30pm Left there this morning around 8am. Can't remember what time I got to Narara Eco Village. On the Canberra trip, this charge point had a Tesla charging so I drove on. I thought at first I would have to do the same this time too. A worker came out and said I can go around. So currently charging. This is a free charge outlet. No record. Trev @ drivebynature.com |

Too much to photo at the show. A big event, though many car companies declined to participate. Almost ready to cut off charge at Broadway shopping centre. Free charge. A Porshe Taycan came to join me. Brand new. He bought it yesterday. Still learning how to charge it. I give him a hand to get it charging. Trev @ drivebynature.com |

Went back to Brother's place ĺast night at Cooranbong. First stop for charging (day 9), I went to Stockland Glendale shopping centre. Plugshare shows 3 phase, Tesla destination and Type2. I only saw wall outlet and Type 2, but type 2 was out of order. Charging back at Cameron Park Plaza again. Quite slow with only one phase connected. It does have 32A though, so charging at 40A to the battery. 4 charging bays. (at Broadway shopping centre last night, only gave 40A too) Free charge. Trev @ drivebynature.com |

Have a safe trip Trev. Good to see the photos of the show. Pity that there are so many charger stations with problems. Seems that there is a fair way to go before there is enough of them that are maintained properly for long distance travel. One day an electric car is on my list, but I need 4 wd or Awd where I live. Definitely don't want all the techno stuff that gets thrown at new car users though. I see no need for heated seats, heated steering wheels etc. Or a masssive screen to watch movies on. I would like the EH holden version of an electric car. No frills just a good car. Anyway have a great trip home Pete |
