B & A The TLP523 comes in 1 and 2 inputs/outputs. The TLP523-1 only has 4 pins and this can be placed in the 8 pin socket intended for the TLP523-2, using the top 1,2 and 7,8 pins. But you don't want mains sync anyway... here is the top board with a few things marked that I think you don't need. It scrubs out the RS-232 (red) and the mains sync (blue). It retains the SCR current limit shutdown function. For this to work you will need a current transformer of some specification (about 15V - 20V at the AC current trip limit) wronger than a phone book full of wrong phone numbers |

If I'm understanding what you're saying correctly everything in red and blue I do not need I have crap loads of small Transformers I already have a small Step Down Transformer 120 to 12 volts would you happen to have a picture of the current Transformer that you could share Or a picture of the completed board Thanks again and I'm sorry for being a pain in your ass I know you're very busy be warned i am good parrot but Dumber than a box of rocks |

Step Down Transformer does not = Current Transformer. Can I offer a suggestion, Google "Current Transformer" it is better to learn how to fish than to just ask for fish. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

I know what a current Transformer is I have several of them here but there is different kinds I'm sure Poida is thinking the same thing you wrote He said it needs to be between 15 and 20 volts I've been Googling but I just keep getting more confused Could you point me to one that I can buy so I can read about it and understand it a little better I don't want to fish I just want to know what kind of fish were fishing for I'm just confused I do believe if I had a little bit more information I could figure it out though Thanks for answering my post Madness I appreciate it I just need a little bit more information so I can figure this out be warned i am good parrot but Dumber than a box of rocks |

If you read this you will have a good understanding Wikipedia These are the type we have been using previously. Current transformer There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

Thank you Madness I truly appreciate it So this will be going around one leg of the output of the inverter and feed the smaller 15 to 20 volts back into the Nano control board And it will need to be able to handle a little over the maximum amount of amperage that's the inverter will ever put out?? be warned i am good parrot but Dumber than a box of rocks |

The Active wire of the Inverter output passes through the Current Transformer as shown here. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

There is a CT socket and a 12vac vfb socket. The CT uses the one like Mad posted a link to this type The 12vac VFB you'll need something like this Cheers Caveman Mark Off grid eastern Melb |

Staregazer stop by here and he is teaching me how to fish How to use the search engine on the top of the page on the mobile version I had no way to find out that Mark has already posted his build has basically answered almost every one of my questions on his post Thank God he sent me a link to it has already helped me so much It seems like he always comes through exactly when I need him I thought I knew exactly how a current Transformer work and I was very wrong They are so much more complicated than what I originally thought I have a lot of learning to do I don't think I will ever in my lifetime get even close to most of you guys on hear don't think it's even possible But I do want to have a general understanding so I can fix mine stuff and help myself Thank you Madness for pushing me in that direction I think I know just enough to have too much confidence and get myself in trouble be warned i am good parrot but Dumber than a box of rocks |

The little converter boards are very fiddly, and honestly I would reccommend to use plug in chips even if they cost a lot more. Adding another complexity to the build just makes the overall job harder and open to potential issues. But if you want to then these are the bits you'll need DIP8 TO SOP 8 SOP14 TO DIP14 LONG HEADER PINS GET THE 19MM LT1638 CHIPS 21844 SURFACE CHIPS SIL HEADER SOCKETS When you solder the pins to the adaptor boards make sure you have them up the correct way, they have the layout on each side for different size chips. I had a few of those chips not work, possibly as I overheated them when soldering?? They are fiddly and it's probably not a huge amount more to get the plug in ones by the time you buy the long pins and adaptor boards. Cheers Caveman Mark Off grid eastern Melb |

I will definitely get the plug-in ones if you think that's the best thing to do I highly value your opinion and others on here also Sometimes I think I know something and then find out I don't know anything So your opinion is very valuable to me I will be buying them off AliExpress digikey doesn't have them I've had very good luck buying stuff off of AliExpress But I've always bought something that was recommended by someone else Or had a lot of good reviews Thanks mark be warned i am good parrot but Dumber than a box of rocks |

Got my order in 2 AliExpress for the Nano parts Boy don't you just hate to wait I bought resistor kits and capacitor kits So I will likely have a lot of leftovers I did not order any connector plugs Already had all of them Already had all the electrolytic capacitors And the name brand Texas instrument voltage regulators Now just waiting on the slow boat and hope nothing gets messed up be warned i am good parrot but Dumber than a box of rocks |

They didn't charge me anything to change it to 15 volt put it in the notes on the order Checked it once it came in 15.46 volts be warned i am good parrot but Dumber than a box of rocks |

A few parts came in the mail just enough to be a tease I used gold-plated pens from old computer parts to raise the dc-to-dc converter the heatsinks i have for lm7812 would hit DC DC converter without using pens and tilting it a little toward 10 pin plug If you look on the board in the pic you may noticed I didn't put the 4007 diodes in over by the mains sink part of the board I was wondering if anybody knows if these are necessary since I won't be using the main sync function By following poida the Greats Tips on how to solder this board And my absolutely awesome homemade clear no headache great smelling high temperature cheap as peanuts liquid solder flux I think I'm going to be okay Notice I said Think!!! I've wanted to build a control board every since about two years ago when I read about the oz control board Thank you poida the great Special thanks to Mark and Tinyt also be warned i am good parrot but Dumber than a box of rocks |
