Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.
I don't get it, you make it sound like you are watching a different video to the one in the link. He goes into a painfully detailed explanation so that anyone who knows enough that they have a use for the device could understand it.
If you tell yourself you can't understand it you are convincing yourself that you can't.There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't.

No, I understand it, and the vid is good for the explanation. But for me its others that need help.
So drawing up a Block plan and the appropriate sub-routines will and can then be put down on paper.
All of us are not genius's and can leap onto programing stuff.Everything is possible, just give me time.

It is really no harder than programming a video recorder (remember those), but some people will never get it.There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't.

My little relay controller board turned up yesterday, it works a treat.
I set the relay low voltage to 53.5v and the high voltage to 54.0V.
From observation, my LYP battery bank sits at a float level (Outback charge controller) of 54V, telling me its full.
So, when it reaches that voltage the uncontrolled charging via the 2KW GTI is terminated by disconnecting the GTI AC with a SSR.
Should a prolonged load drop the battery voltage below 53.5V the extra GTI charging is turned on again.
I might have to experiment with the set 0.5v Rly hysteresis, I have not programmed any delay as the 10KW battery bank does not change its potential very quickly.
Since the relay has a changeover contact I chose the above program for the smaller relay 'on' time during a 24 hour cycle.Klaus

Doesn't the Outback have an Auxilary output that you could setup to operate when it is in float? There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Yes it has an auxiliary output. Its used at present to start my current injection cell balancing. But this happens when the solar input voltage rises above 75V (set to this voltage as then the battery is getting full, else the panel voltage is lower than 75V).
What I want is GTI control by battery voltage as this changes slower and more predictable with the load on the inverter. The little relay is just a small part of the things I have to incorporate with the addition of GTI charging. Klaus

Don't know yet, plenty of work re fitting 2 extra solar panel strings and making provision for the hi V DC disconnect breaker etc. has to happen beforehand.
I think its several weeks down the track before I know. Not any more as agile on the roof as I was once . Klaus
