Hi Madness While there is a lot of mineral and coal resources in Australia they are still only a finite resource, that being so they will run out someday or somebody will start mining in another country, commercial decision, and what do we offer then, the Chinese will have bought the best farms and all the high end real estate and when they decide to collapse the Australian economy what will have to offer to our grandchildren and GGC not a rosy future but but to be slaves to the system, may be a use for bark hut builders again. But foreign investment in farmland is good for Australia, at least that is what the 2 major parties where trying to tell us when Cubby station was sold to the Chinese. Maybe they are factoring in what will happen when coal seam gas extraction stuffs the aquifer. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

This town made their own power grid and they produce and use 100% their own energy. They decide the energy price in the joint meeting of the whole town. Also; The town has zero unemployment, compared to 30% unemployment in other villages in the area. I can not put the link, because page editor does not work this time, but the adress is copied here; http://www.go100percent.org/cms/index.php?id=70&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=129 In the page, in this link you can also found more 100% self sufficient places all over the world. You seem to have for example this in Australia. Antero, Followed your links, but found no actual working systems, and no actual down to earth plans for any. Links had sites asking for donations to implement action but no details. The world is full of this kind of rhetoric and people riding on the back of such. Actual working systems that are financially viable is what is needed and proposed projects that show substance. There are plenty of working systems in the world that showcase the potential, action is needed to implement more not words. Perhaps there is something wrong with those links. Nygan Australia Above is a project actually under construction in OZ to build the largest solar farm in the Southern Hemisphere to date. We come from the land downunder. Vic |

OK Norcold, I try again, because this was very good news I think, that someone else TOO.. in this world, than just you Norcold and I have 100% hybrid or other systems to make their own PURE energy from sun and wind. You there in Australia sun and I here in Finland in the polar night, very north. WE have systems and both write about them. BUT; This page will give you the map and other information, what is going on; http://www.go100percent.org/cms/ In the section "Go to 100% map", you can find what is happening in different parts of the world, in this matter. This is the story about Feldheim; http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/29/feldheim-germany-re newable_n_1173992.html I know(really indeed).. , but it is So so "nice" to write and think about better future JUST.. like IMAGINE ! by John Lennon I just cannot be like doing nothing and NOT.. writing about things I hope and want to change. I sleep better if I do, even something This is THE!! extreme and the ultimate question in our time, WHAT WE ALL KNOW ; In the AREA, about 100 X 100 Km, we get enough PURE energy from the sun, just in ONE DAY, that would be enough for the whole world, for WHOLE year.. HOW DO YOU ?.. sleep, after knowing all this ? Time goes by, it´s so silly.. Madonna Antero |

Antero, I originally checked out the OZ projects on web site. Bugger all just plans and talk. But now I`ve gone to the Europe section, and that is a totally different story, plenty of existing systems. I now understand your enthusiasm, go100% has plenty of support in Europe, bugger all in OZ. But don`t take that, that things aren`t on the go in OZ, it just means we are not "connected" with the GO100% campaign as Europe is. I understand now, Thank You. Sleep is never a problem for me, a nice glass of De Bortoli red, with my night time meal and I go out like a baby. De Bortoli are an OZ wine making Co that uses both solar PV panels and Solar Hot Water at their winery. I`m excited am making some headway up here in NQ, had a good day with a very positive discussion with the "money side of things". Whether we like it or not the dollars are what it is all about. For every power user who pays extra for AE there is millions plus who`ll pay if it`s cheaper. Which side of the fence are you on(4M member), now be truly honest, look deep? Cos if you say you`d pay more, you`ll have Al Gore knocking on your door with his shearing shears. Cautiously optimistic. We come from the land downunder. Vic |

In the AREA, about 100 X 100 Km, we get enough PURE energy from the sun, just in ONE DAY, that would be enough for the whole world, for WHOLE year.. In Australia or in Sahara desert or in very many places..that are THE most sunniest places in this planet. Solar power to make hydrogen power. Ships to carry this energy to all over the world, with hydrogen powered ships etc Hydrogen cars; http://green.autoblog.com/2013/10/02/daimler-others-promise- 100-hydrogen-stations-in-four-years/ Toyota Hydrogen Car; http://www.gizmag.com/toyota-new-fuel-cell-vehicle-fcv-ces/3 0474/ etc THERE is so much.. AS you know, SO much INDEED... but so little ? There is no business as oil and coal business, in our time. Also the "play" economy that has nothing to do anymore with the real life in this planet and with the life of everybody here.. Real life and needs. This only and JUST is the monetary funds transfer, FROM middle class to the rich and those who have inside information, to do so. BUT you never know, what will happen next.. REAL economy is beginning to happen, as I have wrote in previous writings. THE Fall of Berlin Wall, in this matter will come sooner than you can think.. Energy, is the new fall.. We are here and NOW at a "watershed" in our time, in this matter. Very SOON you will found and here NEWS, that you have never heard before ! Here you can find first steps to that, from this day; Chinese has declared a war against pollution NOW ! Could this be a step ?, to a new "world". NEWS from Reuters, from this day; http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/05/us-china-parliamen t-pollution-idUSBREA2405W20140305 Just wondering.. Antero |

Hi Antero The main problem with advancement is the firmly entrenched money making systems in place at present owned and condoned by governments and commercial interests in the world. Governments are supported by the taxes and levies on the extracted resources and distribution of finite products, sunlight is a lot more efficient and cleaner but it cuts across their money streams needed to support countries and the lavish life style of of big business, wars have been fought and are still being fought over the black gold seen as vital for economy of old and developing nations. It will take time to convert commercial existing processes to a new technology as they can extract gas using existing plants, when the gas gets used up we will see a swing to manufactured hydrogen but do not hold your breath. China has had a wake up call with the last smog event but still will rely on coal for power because it is cheap and lo tech. While they have the PV market tied up they are still not using PV power to a large extent, because they would rather export the PV cells for profit. Solar will play an ever increasing role in domestic power use but as we all see the cost of converting to a storage state as hydrogen or electro chemical storage the big draw back, developments are underway by a major fuel company to synthesis a hydrocarbon fuel using PV power, still under raps at the moment. To VK4AYQ; Have never heard the word revolution ? That we need. But you are right. This is just going just like you said. NO change. But as I said, I will sleep better.. doing something. In the AREA, about 100 X 100 Km, we get enough PURE energy from the sun, just in ONE DAY, that would be enough for the whole world, for WHOLE year.. Is this JUST a dream.. NO !! that is THE ¤¤ !! REALITY !! in this planet CAN you sleep and watch yourselves, in the mirror in the morning ?? NOW you REALLY know what is the matter !! I hope.. that is wrong.. I say you all must DO something, before you can sleep.. This ALL, is just a dream and you will wake up very soon.. In our dreams, our brains are working very hard to get some REAL.. unity, order, logic to our world and also to your personal life etc Think some time.. what I wrote in this forum in above writings THAT was really something that I wanted to share with you. Even.. that is nothing to do with.. But, if you understood and take some action, in this matter You will sleep better, than in a long time, since your childhood.. Wishing peace in your souls, that act in this matter.. ASS we all very well, know indeed, in this time !! Antero |

Hi Antero We all have a common interest in the environment otherwise we wouldn't waste our time on this and other forums promoting a better lifestyle by using alternate energy, we may lead by example and get others to follow in the future, but at the moment the society we live in promotes excesses in lifestyle not easily supported by alternate energy, this will change in the not to distant future. As you say 1 1000 sq klm of solar collection could supply the world but the point is we need a distribution of solar collection for efficiency otherwise transmission losses rear their ugly head. The original thread was to discuss small scale solar farming from a small 10 KW dedicated grid feed module to a 100 KW system, the mega systems are way beyond our means and in the realm of commercial interests and governments, again, this isn't the answer to the problem it is just a transference of source for their money making adventures. Transport is another issue and can be dealt with by advancing technology, but it is a myth that it is going to be cheaper for the end user, electric bikes are better than a horse and may be the future town transport, time will tell. I can sleep and see myself in the mirror in the morning as long as I can find my glasses, and I would say well another day to live as they haven't blown the world up yet, others are not so lucky. Peace of mind comes to those who give it, and those preying on those with peace of mind. For two different reasons of course. All the best Bob Foolin Around |

To VK4AYQ; Peace of mind..and social peace ? Here is my writing earlier, what would say something to this. This is copied, from my writing to this page in the story; http://www.thebackshed.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=5285&PN =1 "There is a lot of writing here in Finland about getting out of from the whole system..to be totally independent, from the state, too. People want to withdraw from society. I have wrote to those forums too. I have wrote in a reverse sence about this and asked; What would be the matter, to join you back ? In Germany they have found a way to join people and society back together They made a decission, to totally abandon nuclear power. Then they made decission to give a good feed in tarif for everybody, who install solar/wind power. Decentralized energy production system, where all the citizens can participate, to produce clean energy What, is better than this ? The feed in tarif is so good, that you really can earn good, by installing solar power to your roof, or wind power in your yard. This also balances the social differences and makes the solar producing neighbours, communities, back together, to share their experiences etc That was a moment of instant improvement and healed the whole society ! Now, they have created jobs and a LOT of them.. Reseach financing for this matter, is the biggest in this world now and more is coming.. Electric cars too etc German quality. They really have realized, that this is just a short moment of "oil paradice" short lived now and this is just peak oil moment, now. I think, this is very serios matter, in our time, in many ways. Social peace and safety, in our societies ? Germany !, has REALLY showed us all, how to solve. They do not produce energy with Russian roulette.. If, there is not hope.. Hope, REALLY is the BEST medicine." I said all this about one year ago and NOW it is more and more very present and hot issue, in our time. Decentralized energy and serving the whole nation.. Making more jobs Making the breathing air better Making the future better, for our children More tax incomes to your own country and locally More purchasing power locally, to keep shops and all the services locally and near There is So VERY much.. to have local power NOT.. to mention the local pure food ETC etc What is better ? Everything they try.. to centralize all ! DO NOT.. !! Just wondering.. Antero PS Water fraction, that is the VERY NIGHTMARE in our time. In our Bible, it was the worst thing to poison other mans well.. |

at the moment Germany is getting 34% of it's energy from Russian natural gas. so no one in Europe can say much to Putin when he acts like a jerk. here in Canada the oil companies own my government . we signed the Kyoto accord but they have done nothing to reduce emissions in fact, co2 emissions have gone up. china may declare war on pollution but they are anxious to get control of any fossil fuel. secret trade deals are taking shape. meant to circumvent our social systems big oil will not give up control of the world with out a fight. |

Hi Electrodaddy The situation as you describe it is repeater in most countries around the world, circumvention of good sense is common within the commercial systems and applies to the power grid allover the world. What I would like to see, and I believe the many of us who believe we can do something better using PV wind or whatever does little damage to the environment as possible, on a personal basis if we are in a reasonable area for solar use that, if we live where the wind has potential use that or if we have access to a stream use that. Many small contributions to the grid or to personal use negating the need for grid power will not save the world but it will help, and give us the satisfaction of independence. We cannot fight the multinational masters but we can be a thorn in their side if enough of us do something, as much as we can within our financial and skills capability. When Norcold gets his project up and running it may be a starting point for for a PV revolution on a personal basis outside the mega money consortium's who are only interested in profit and can claim kudos for their efforts and subsidies that the general public pays for out of their taxes while still paying for overpriced power from the retailers. Perhaps we have something to give our readers ? I won in the year 1973 the competition about economics.. here in Finland. In that time.. I feel to be something special. BUT I was nothing !! I think.. you all readers and writers, in this section have a very good understanding, what is going on. After all my experiences in the economy and technology in my life.. There is just this.. that I REALLY want to share to all YOU.. When I retired, my only coal after all, was to give back and test and found solutions, that are for REAL economy and local etc From wind and solar power. My retirement days have been the best time, in my life ! Just wondering.. Antero |

More efficient panel technology Above leads you to an encouraging advancement for not only PV panels but also batteries. Less reflection more absorption and lower manufacturing costs for panels. Manufacturers of current tech panels have broken the 50cent (US)/watt barrier with anticipation of it going even lower not to far down the track. The future is looking good for PV solar, if only we could have a time machine, just 10 years would do with the way it`s looking. Solar in conjunction with hydro, pump the water up of a day with excess power then hydro power of a night as a possible alternative to batteries. We`d be lost without silicon, just thinking back to those crystal radios of 50 years plus ago, then to the silicon chip. Doubt there`d be many electronic devices that don`t utilize silicon. Heart pacemakers, hearing aids etc the list is massive. Seems to be not only a plentiful resource but relatively inert. We come from the land downunder. Vic |

I built my first radio myself, when I was 12 years old and that was crystal radio that you could only listen with headphones. Then I developed it and built myself many mobile radios, transistor technology. When I wrote an essay of my university entrance examination, which received the highest score, was the subject; invention that will revolutionize the world; transistor. I had my first Nokia mobile phone 1999 and also my first internet connection in the same year, with telephone modem Tele Well modem. Now we have these 3g and 4g wireles internet connections and tablets etc My internet is working with 3g wireles with Huawei, with 900MHz antenna. My energy source since 2005 have been wind and solar, when I built this new house. THE speed, of the change ? IS it enough ? I hope it is !! If I would now wrote essay, what is the invention that, will revolutionize the world. That would be without ANY ! doubt; Solar energy, and for that, I am as sure as transistors and semiconductors revolution, as I wrote decades ago about transistors. This is happening and with a speed that.. I say AGAIN.. hope the speed is enough, in this case !! Antero |

There is no doubt solar is here to stay. However the Queensland government is doing there best to get rid of it with there plans to axe the feed in tariff for domestic solar. I can understand them wanting to get rid of the contracts where people are getting near double the retail price. But this has caused the solar businesses phones to stop ringing. How many of them will go out of business due to this. From here "THOUSANDS of southeast Queensland solar households will lose their guaranteed 8c feed-in tariff and will have to negotiate directly with retailers over a price for the energy they produce. Energy Minister Mark McArdle will today unveil a significant overhaul of feed-in tariffs, saving other energy users millions of dollars on power bills." Don't you you worry about that! There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

To Madnes; This all begins sound like in the Holland, when they first begin to use wind power. The battle is here again that we had already, in the Middle Ages. AS I have said many times here and in several other forums; Nobody else can change anything than just we ourselves. THE only question NOW, is how much can they; delay and hold back ? It is up to you. I think there is also a question about MUCH, much more ! Can we REALLY.. tolerate , knowing that we can get; In the AREA, about 100 X 100 Km, we get enough PURE energy from the sun, just in ONE DAY, that would be enough for the whole world, for WHOLE year.. Social peace and jobs and incomes more, for normal people, not just for energy cheater gamblers and gambler bankers and stock exchange gamblers. REALLY, real economy ! Think about the future of your children WHAT DO YOU ? want to leave behind knowing Antero |
