Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

DuinoMite, a Maximite Compatible from Olimex.

Glenn, firstly please forgive me for starting a new thread. I wanted to drop the mention of the old naming convention quickly, as Geoff Graham has plans for using this in future Silicon Chip Articles.

Note****
I created the slogan: Maximite is Highly Explosive. The others are just Microcomputers.
Google the definition of "Maximite" It is an Explosive.
My friend Mick Gulovsen came up with the play on words "DuinoMite". Nice work Mick.

So the new names are:
DuinoMite-PC
DuinoMite-Mega
DuinoMite-Mega-I/O
DuinoMite-Mini
DuinoMite-Shield

The old URL to my blog still works, however the new URL is:
http://www.themaximitecomputer.com/duinomite-a-maximite-comp atible-from-olimex/

05:20 and all finished.

Now, what will we do after breakfast?

Cheers Don...

Thanks John, sorry,

Because it is all new names, I have changed those names in all the files to suit.

Schematics and all other relevant files are available from:
http://www.themaximitecomputer.com/max/Programs/

I just got a PM from John.

Sorry John, you have sent me two now old URLs.
They no longer exist.

You need to do this:
Schematics and all other relevant files are available from:
http://www.themaximitecomputer.com/max/Programs/
Then Select Hardware > Dontronics > Olimex

and the new URLs will be exposed.

Cheers Don...

Thanks John, got caught up in the old Catch-22 situation.

Changed the HTML code to suit the new names, then changed the file names, and it didn't match my original HTML code.

All sorted now, and makes sense.

Must be time for my morning walk.
I reckon I may catch a slow granny going up the hill this morning.

Thanks Guys,

Sparkey, there will be a case supplied with the PC version, in fact it may be the only way to order it. Not 100% sure just yet.

Glenn, just wondering if I should ask you to lock the previous thread I moved this thread from, so there is no more traffic, or confusion on product names.

BTW
I just registered http://www.duinomite.com/

Ken Segler will be able to update the first DuinoMite boards to the latest version for initial release.

Hopefully in the near future, MM-Basic will become far more stable, and not require the input that Geoff has had to provide in recent months.

As source code will always be available, and there is no shortage of very talented people on this forum, I don't see the DuinoMite boards lagging behind.

It will be very much user driven, so I really don't know what direction it will all develop towards, hardware or software wise.

If people want routines, they will get written.

I also see many new MM-Basic programs being created to drive all of the potential Arduino shields that are around today, as well as in the future.

If it can be created in C, then it can be created in Basic.
Well, only limitation may be speed throughput on time critical applications.

Machine language drivers can overcome these time critical bottle necks, but will need integrating into the memory of the PIC32 in some way. This is way past my current knowledge, but it can all be done.

If only I was 40, NO, 50 years younger.

Cheers Don...

All looks good. One disappointing thing is the use of the 64 pin PIC32 and not the 100 pin PIC32 chip. Maybe next time.
Its easier to ask forgiveness than to seek permission!
