Hi Kev I would suggest the one that Fillm has as it has some backup locally and Phill has sorted out the problems with it and no doubt has backup and ongoing assistance. All the ones I have tried have had serious issues and required sorting out to full rebuilding and new bearings, and their guarantee isn't worth a hat full of sh**. There are cheaper ones available but the purchase price is no indication of the actual cost in money and frustration when you get it up and it doesn't work to specs or even not at all. Their blades are a joke with no quality control and little efficiency. All the best Bob Foolin Around |

I agree with Bob if you want one out of the box that will work then contact Fillm, For about the same money you will get one that has had the bugs fixed and will work. Pete. Edit........I just noticed you are in China so it might not be practical. Sometimes it just works |

Bryan1, Dont knock the AIR X I have had one on a pole for 4 years and there has not been on bird land on it. They are good to keep birds off the top of poles too. But yes I do have one and it has gone and gone and never missed a beat in the time it has been up. I think it's total out put might be around enough to boil a kettel. They are good to keep a battery topped up but not good to charge anything. I do like them as they have built in reg and recs. It is very simple plug and play. AMACK *Note to self 1. Make it thick 2.Make it heavy. 3.Make it stronger than it should be. 4. Don't rush the first job as the second job will cost more and take mor |

Hi All I have twenty of them in the shed all with problems, the plastic housing cracks and they have rust inside like they have been under water the rotation mount breaks, half the generators wont turn as they are full of swarf in the magnets, once cleaned out the generator is OK but the rest is rubbish I think. By the way they are all new, bought as a job lot. Hi Amack is that your plane on the header, I am into ultralights too, and have a private airfield near Brisbane if you are ever up this way. The Bergy clones would be a good windill to get started with. They have a few problems. Noisy blades, poor regulator, etc. But with a bit of work they can be a good turbine. http://www.thebackshed.com/windmill/articles/ChineseBlades.a sp Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. Hi Gizmo The basics of these turbines is OK, after you replace the bearings, put on a good set of blades and fix the furling, replace the regulator and put on a better tail, that to me isn't a turbine, its a work project that you have to buy. I have gone down the track with a 200 watt and a 500 watt unit I got from ebay for a few dollars they where on ebay because their original owners put them in the to hard basket, this no doubt killed the dreams of these people, and they threw away good money for junk. To me if you buy a product, it should work, and be reasonably reliable and durable as purchased, otherwise it is junk, and if someone in Australia did that with a product they would have consumer affairs knocking on the door. Kevindion Sorry to rain on your parade Kevindion, but every small turbine I have looked at and worked on out of China needs a full rebuild before installing, they have the potential, but not the workmanship to pass. If you are in China and fishing for a reaction from customers here in Australia, I would suggest that the problem lies at your feet, and you may be in a position to do something to fix the problem. Companies fill container loads of these sub standard products and ship to distributors world wide, but when it comes to service and backup nobody there wants to know the customer here, I speak from personal experience of trying to deal with people in service departments that should be back on the farm tending their pigs. Once they have our money they are no longer interested in the customer or their product or to provide spares and tech details for servicing. Even the bigger more expensive units I have seen need a lot of work to commission them before putting into service. Which is the best, NONE, unless you are prepared to do a full pull down and rebuild before use. As I said before it is a shame that they can't get the quality control right, and this isn't a shame on the workers, its to the shame of the company stuffing up a potentially good product. Hi Kevin Of the ones I have checked over, they nearly all have potential to be a good mill if they are repaired before service, but I wouldn't recommend them to a person without the ability to do this work themselves, they have the redeaming factor of being cheap to purchase, so you get the quality you pay for. Beware of plastic housing models as the plastic cracks and falls to pieces very quickly, sometimes they are useless from the box they are shipped in. I am at present trying to salvage a 2kw unit, with poor quality bearings, useless regulator, blades 500 gm out of balance and delaminating fiber glass blades, and non operative furling device, this is typical of the quality, and when the maker is contacted they say to return the product to China for fixing, this costs twice the cost of the unit as landed in Australia, so it is a case of fix it ourselves or dump it. And even if it was sent back to China for fixing it would likely be worked on by the same people that assembled it and put the inspected sticker on it before dispatch originality. people in service departments that should be back on the farm tending their pigs. ..... Bob unfortunate,i totally agree with you.... that is the reason i ask foreigners about chinese product,i thought it may be a better quality product for export, and then i find out a company who made good product.i am wrong. so,the way i make windpower is harder than i thought. ok,what about buy one from US?i just need a gerenator. thank you very much. |

Hi China,, You are doing something fine and worthwhile, good for you .. Now, I've a Exmork windgennerator from China , Happy with most of it , especially from a cost observation. I pulled mine out of the box and just started to fix the cosmetics one by one, not really a big deal . But , sure , the engineering is good, it's the assembly line that needs refinement, like a few of the top office guys lending a helping hand on the finishing parts .. Look at the first Hyundi's motor cars , they were well under perfect , now they are one of the respected mortor cars here in australia from Korea. I'd buy your home products,,, just put a bit of mark-up into doing some cosmetic refinements.. Bruce Bushboy |

Hi Kevendion, I can sell you a good AIR X 300 watt 12 volt turbine made in USA. I have one that I am trying to get rid of. I would be nice to see something exported to China besides iron-ore even if was made in the USA. AMACK P.S BOB I THINK YOU ARE ONE THE MONEY...... *Note to self 1.
