G'day Guy's,
Well for the last 14 years and still are on a 1Kw solar array an old 600AH ex forklift battery our house is just chugging along nicely but with 2 young girls I do reckon the power system will need to be upgraded. With what they say is a hot summer ahead there's no way we will go without aircon again so I do have have to think about a new power system needs to go in.

So I'm planning to move the house power to the shearing shed so it will be a closer run for getting my 4Kw motor conversion up and going. But first I need to cut that redgum branch as that wood will be the new blades and use the ol' Oztules method of roughing out the blades.

I kwnow Oztules way of saying don't bother about wind but with 88 neo magnets in the rotor there is a reason I call this the beast. A load test in my ol' 4ft lathe showd a glimpse at 240 rpm of 89 amps using 2 off 12 volt car batteries. So this beast HAS to get in the air.

To keep the cable run down (well under 100 meters)my shearing shed is about to become the power centre where a 10 hp listeriod with a 5Kw ST head will supply backup power.

So where am I heading on this a weekend away up north with a mate I sold some batteries to so he could go off the grid and is running a couple of 48 volt power jacks and from a cheap ebay purchase they have stoodup.

This where I said mate that retired guy (former village idiot) came up with this idea of an inverter that beats anything my mate said OK what temp do these inverters work at, he quoted 75C or above for the power jack. So I guess that is a question for (the new title of village genius) to answer this question.

So now I do have the quest to make a 10Kw 48 volt inverter for the mate with the goal of making it run cooler. I reckon the first step is getting the Clockmans book and order 2 sets of pcbs so I will get that sorted.

Well a of of a blogg that would fool any village idiot in my book

Cheer Bryan
