Hi All,
I have a dc generator that generates electric between 1-4V. How can I convert it to a fix 12 V ?

This comes up from time to time, but no real answer yet. Oatley Electronics do sell a boost converter for charging 12 volts from as little as 8 volts, but any lower and the circuit wont run.

I do remember seeing a circuit for running 9 volt electronic gear from a 1.5 volt single cell. I wonder if this could be modified to provide 13 or more volts. From memory it used a single 8 pin IC and a coil. Anyone know of a link to the circuit?

Thanks for your answer Glenn. This circuit would be useful for me in this project. I will be grateful, if anyone shares this circuit.

I've realized that the motor generates more than 1-4 V. Actually I dont know what voltage or power generates it, but I can say that it's a 12/24 V DC Motor and we succeeded to turn on a car lamb(12 V-50 Watt). Most probably these circuits can not be used for this motor. I found a dc-dc converter named "MC34063" and I wonder whether it solves the issue. I attached its datasheet.
I am waiting for your urgent helps, because I have no more one day to hand in this project 2008-01-23_073111_MC34063A.rar

hey Tuna that link doesn't work. Also could you upload it as a Zip file instead of a Rar file.

G'day tuna,
Sorry mate but when you don't know the voltage and power output, how can anybody say it is suitable or not?
I looked at the device and it is rated at 1.5 amps, but you know this already as it is in the data sheet.
was working fine... til the smoke got out.

Sorry for lack of informaton. I have just hand in the project and used a 7805 regulator, I know that doesn't work properly but I had very very limited time.
Thanks for your helps.

Hey Tuna

Even if you didn't get it to work properly in time, you do understand why it didn't work and thats just as important. You now have a better understaning of the problem and the possible ways to fix it.
