Is there any reason you can't use enamelled aluminium wire when rewinding a toroid for use as an inverter instead of copper?

Only reasons to avoid it would be it has a higher resistance than copper wire, so has less current capacity and will get hotter quicker than copper.

You would need to use thicker wire also. If you get some of those Aero Sharps you will get heaps of wire from them.Edited by Madness 2016-06-15
