Hi everyone Two years ago l brought 3ph 40 kw diesel generator for my workshop as l find it cheaper than having my house rewired to take single ph to 3ph power. However recently I received a large power bill coming from my home and was just wondering if it is possible to have a Grid tie with my smart meter fitted and run by generator.??? Cost to rewiring the from main power pole single phase to 3 phase approx.$6500 v diesel generator $6000 running fuel approx. 2 to 3 litre per hour also hopefully one day buy deep cycle batteries that charge by 3ph 415volt power forklift battery charger. any help will be great Dwyer |

I think the diesel running costs would outweigh the grid feed rebate. I think you would be better off with a battery bank and inverter fed by solar/wind, and just use the generator to top it up occasionally.
