Yep,

That half moon cutout and twist lock is pretty distinctive.

It was made by Conxall and is part of their Multi con X series.

they got taken over by Switchcraft.

Multi-Con-X contact arrangments

4180-2SG-300

3180-2PG-300 cable end

I am hoping it is for tracking tigers and you are not just a mad keen golf fanatic

cheers Yahoo

Pin and socket fittings can be both panel mounted so you need to take special care with this when you order a fitting SG = socket PG = pinEdited by yahoo2 2013-01-28

Hi,

I'm not able to get this anywhere in bangalore, India. I've checked with almost all industrial connector sellers, and no one even knows about this.

Is there any other make or a DIY available for this??

thanks

This is a bit of a tough one. You will probably find that whatever you fit will not be as good as the original fitting. I had a quick look at some suppliers here in Australia, most do not stock the 2 pin plug (one has a few on the shelf)but they can order it in. It is about $9A + postage, so they are around.

Its waterproof, fits securely without bending and damaging the power pins and the recessed pins on both connectors means there is less chance of shorting one of the batteries.

You should pull the cover off the machine and see how much room you have to work with inside and what the connector is wired to and how it is wired. I would think that any circular industrial fitting is out as an option, if you don't have a probe tool to unclip the pins and sockets out of the fittings they are almost impossible to work with.

If it is an emergency, you could remove the fitting and run a cable out of the box and fit automotive spade terminals on the end and tape it up. A cable gland or cord grip bush should be used to secure the cable in the hole (if you can find one that fits)this will stop you tearing the terminals off the internal battery or circuit board when you catch the cable on something. There is a lot of junked electrical goods that would have a suitable cable and gland if you can find someone that collects that sort of thing.

Something more permanent could be a Waterproof connector I use these for electronics on agricultural machinery. The downside with these is there is no panel fitting, so a cable and cable gland needs to be used for everything. also it catches on everything you are forever untangling stuff, but the pins are all recessed and it locks together, that is a bonus. It is similar to a mc4 solar panel connector, that may be another option?.

If there is room in the box for a longer socket you could use a merit plug the downside of this is that the plug is not locked in and there is a risk of shorting the positive pin on the plug end with your setup.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Or you can just replace it with a type of plug/socket that is much more readily available in India, and fits the same sized hole.
