Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I was watching a doco of "How its made", so I expect the process for this little one might be the same. Actually I have an old HDD platter somewhere in the shed, its a MONSTER, will post a photo if I can find it. Cheers Aaron Off The Grid |

The sound out of that thing is truly horrible, but I guess, just for the gimick of it and the target market of being a thing for kids to play with, it had to be cheap. But wow - the sound examples he played were perhaps the most horrible I have ever head in terms of speed fluctuations etc! Still, an interesting little thing, historically speaking. I remember we used to have a "Bag of laughs" which when you pressed it, it played a short record of over-the-top laughing, and used this exact same concept Smoke makes things work. When the smoke gets out, it stops! |
