It's time to get a few spares of the mppt board, the inverter board, maybe a few brainboards for te mppt and a few picoverters Can I get some idea of interest in this please? The mmpt will be Wiseguy's design. It works fine with 2 or 3 FETs The inverter board will be my version of Madness's 6kW board. No changes were made. The picoverter is a simple inverter controller, easy to build and uses the minimum parts. please reply here, not via PM. I hardly check the PMs now. wronger than a phone book full of wrong phone numbers |

Hi poida, I would like a couple of the mmpt and brainboards. Would also like couple of the picoverter boards and if you are getting some Madness boards I'll also get one or two, got a lot of spare HY FETS and some things I want to experiment with. It's all too hard. Mike. |

definitely put me down for 3 mppt boards and brain boards at least...more if needed to get to minimum order... also 3 of the mosfet boards too please... Thank you in advance Pete... I think it works !! |

Hello Podia Am I just wondering if Wiseguy MPPT board is thru holes or smd? Thanks Andy |

2 picoverter boards 2 inverter boards 2 mppt boards I would prefer you select 2oz for the inverter boards. I'm happy to pay more for mppt boards in 2oz but will go along with the rest if they prefer 1oz. |

Hi Mrracerhacker as usual, all pay postage at cost. Norway might be a bit much. I would estimate 20 Euro at least. The inverter board is just a power board, it requires something to control it (picoverter maybe?) or you have plans to make your own controller? wronger than a phone book full of wrong phone numbers |

Nicks, both the inverter power board and the mppt PCBs will be 2oz. They are a joy to solder up the parts. wronger than a phone book full of wrong phone numbers |

I was unsure where this was going and a bit vague about numbers in my first reply: Soooo: 3 mmpt and 3 brainboards. 3 picoverter boards. 3 Madness boards. It's all too hard. Mike. |

no worries about postage, okay that, got an picoverter and a nanoverter in the mail waiting for me so no need there, got some pics i should upload one day of my inverter setup. |

totals so far: inverter power board: 2 (me) + 3 (KeepIS) + 3 (noneya) + 2 (disco4now) + 3 (johnmc) + 2 (nicks) + 1 (mrracerhacker) = 16 picoverter (this or something else is needed to drive the inverter board): 2 (me) + 2 (disco4now) + 3 (johnmc) + 2 (nicks) + 3 (KeepIS) = 12 mppt (needs a brainboard too): 2 (me) + 3 (noneya) + 2 (pd) + 3 (disco4now) + 3 (johnmc) + 1 (Andymc) + 2 (nicks) + 2 (mrracerhacker) + 3 (KeepIS) = 21 brainboard: 2 (me) + 3 (noneya) + 2 (pd) + 3 (disc4now) + 3 (johnmc) + 1 (andymc) + 1 (mrracerhacker) + 3 (KeepIS) = 18 I will get 2oz copper for the mppt and inverter power boards. The other two will be 1 oz copper since they only do low power signal and control. Everything will be at cost, plus postage. I will provide support to get these things working. Latest firmware, Arduino programming help, build questions etc.. All here in this thread. I have removed the over current crap in the brainboard. It will not work and it's best we do not rely on this poorly executed idea of mine for anything. As far as I can tell, there are zero issues with the picoverter. The inverter board had some errors in the top silk screen, I think I have sorted that out, and an error with the 18V zener layout. I think that is fixed too. (Both these are easy to patch up anyway) Wiseguy's mppt board is perfect and works exactly as required. A small list of build instructions will be needed. Maybe it's time to look at BOM for these? wronger than a phone book full of wrong phone numbers |

for instance, the inverter board does not need to be fully populated. You can omit the 250V cap, the two resistor and cap snubbers and you only need to build as many FETs as you need. I run my house on a 4 FET build (times 4 so that's 16 FETS in total) and that is good for well in excess of 12kW peak power. I only see about 100 Amps peak inverter current so that is approx. 5kW peak at any time. The picoverter can have the fan control parts omitted if you are doing external fan control. 2 versions of firmware: 1 - fan controlling one fan only, based on over temp conditions of the toroid or heatsink. (I use this with my "victim" 12 FET inverter) 2 - individual fan control, one fan for heat sink, one for toroid, one of both could run depending on load and HS or toroid temps. The LCD can be omitted but it's fun to see it work so I would want you all to build the serial LCDs. These are easy to make. Need another nano for each LCD. The mppt can be built with 2 FETs and 2 diodes and run perfectly well at 45 Amps at 56V output. The capacitors need only be "enough" but more is usually better. Maybe 4 x 450uF on the input side and 3 x 450uF on the output. Whatever you have available.. the brainboard also needs a serial LCD. It is more important to have the LCD with this controller, it tell you what the hell is happening at all times. I would not bother with a cooling fan for the mppt, it throttles it's output as the heatsink temp rises past a user defined setpoint. It can not overheat if you use this feature. There are two versions of the mppt firmware. 1 - show the choke temperature and have no temperature coefficient for battery charge voltage 2 - no choke temp BUT you have the battery charge voltage tempco. I use no. 2 This means you put a 10K NTC on a battery terminal to give battery temperature. Electrically isolate this of course. wronger than a phone book full of wrong phone numbers |

costs from JCLPCB rounding up quantity, it's 20 inverter boards, 20 brainboards, 25 mppt and 15 picos 80 items $394 AUD total plus $210 AUD freight. Freight has to be shared equally, and simply so it's ($210 / 80) added to each item. eg. someone wants 3 inverter boards and 3 picos. 6 x ($210 / 80) = $15.75 freight 3 x $11.11 inverter board = $33.33 3 x $1.35 pico = $4.05 total is $53.13 plus postage from Melbourne Is this OK with you all? Picos are $1.35 ea brainboard is $0.82 ea mppt is $5.43 ea inverter board is $11.11 ea wronger than a phone book full of wrong phone numbers |
