Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I need to extend our security alarms (High Power Led Strobes, Horns, Sirens) to another area of the site and have it link to the existing master controller.
Rather than run long heavy cables it seems a better idea to duplicate some of the mosfet high power switches and opto couple the extension into the system.

This PCb board is the first step, it has 4 high power mosfets that can easily switch 30 - 50 amps with minimal losses and 3 smaller 2.8 amp mosfets for general external local piezo and low power leds. The high current circuits have automotive type plug in blade fuses, load terminations are bolted ring terminals direct to the PCB, mosfets sit under the pcb, using alloy case as heatsinking if large currents are used. Each mosfet has a tiny 1.4A 12v driver that will work with either 3.3 or 5v logic input.

The switcher module is generic enough to be used in other applications and maybe of use to others here

A smaller controller board containing 8 extra local input zones will be added to sit on top of the switcher.

PCB 150 x 123mm:

J1-2 pcb terminal is the constant pressure spring type, 0.1" spacing for individual wires.

Will post the Gerbers if anyone wants them.

Cheers
Mike
