Try running it on ac.
Half the leds will light on one half cycle, the other half on the opposite half cycle. They will all appear to be continuously lit.Cheers, Tony.

I have been starting to think about getting things ready for Lighting up my big tree out the front for Christmas. With my recent shed clean up ( 33% completed) I have found a lot of power supplys for the car LED lights and Light Bars I use with a bit of Cellophane over them for Colour.
Might try and get up into the thing this year and get some lights further up into the canopy. It's big, sprawling area to light up. Even 5M isn't really getting past the main trunks much but Might be better than nothing. I was thinking of screwing some Lights on the roof of the house behind it for some backlighting. I thought that might work well. I have some bigh light bars that would probably have enough grunt for it.
Didn't have much last year Compared to the griswald's outdoing Doctor up the road that has a Professional Crew come in for about 3 Days to do his place which is spectacular but Still had a lot of people stopping and a few taking Pics which was nice. Another place round the corner was unbelievable. Literally turned the place into fairy land. The time and expense invested in what some people do for the enjoyment of others really does personify the spirit of Christmas beyond the bastardisation of the commercialisation.
Spose I could set up some strobes and Wifi the camera to a printer and set up a network and could shoot pics for people and print them out or beam them to their Phone or email. Might attract a Crowd and that would sure as heck upset the whining do gooders over the road.
A couple of suburbs from where I used to live I saw this old fella and his wife a couple of times setting up Christmas lights on their house. When it was finished was really something. I went out one night and took some real nice pics of it all and printed them and took them over. They seemed very taken aback and touched even though it was just a little thing compared to the work they had put in.
This was what I did last year.
The tree is pretty Broad more than this pic really shows.

Trust me Tony, I do VERY little shopping for Christmas and am very much against the commercialisation of it. I'm not a faithful man but I am against taking a Noble cause and bastardising the hell out of it for greed and Profit. I hate Christmas for other reasons but the BS of "making someone feel special" because you increased the profits of retailers does not sit well either.
Once again this year, those whom watch the MSM will see a report early/ Mid December from the retailers association talking mouthpiece bitching about Christmas spending being down and a veiled implication of that being the fault of the public as if they have done something wrong and to be lambasted for.
Come January, even if Spending is at high levels like it was last year, some talking head will be back on again having another whinge that the $5Bn spent wasn't what they were expecting and people should be ashamed they didn't Pizz more up the wall on crap people don't need just for the retailers benefit. Oh, the poor CEO's and Board members only get a $1.5M Bonus instead of the $2m they were counting on. What a hardship!!
It will be interesting to see what happens this year. So many out of work and lost Businesses etc. OTOH, a Lot of people that have retained their Jobs have probably spent a lot less than they normally would Over the last months so are most likely relatively cashed up and will be motivated to enjoy some retail stupi....errr, Therapy. Even though online spending has been off the charts, I still think Impulse buying would have fallen through the floor.
I am already working on the Mrs Christmas Box. A Small 60x40" framed family portrait. Yes, I want to see the thing and for it to be seen. If you have to walk up to it, it's too bloody small. I'd go bigger but this place is more windows than wall. Shot it many months when the maple leaves were thick on the ground at the edge of town which she loves and I have been " Slack" about doing anything with the Pics despite the " Reminders".
Those downlights I put in ages ago " That didn't line up and weren't needed there" weren't any accident either.
Yes, I will go and buy my Daughter something nice when we are paroled again. Not much I can make her myself. I bought her a good quality bracelet last year which she loved very much. Hopefully I'll get it right again this year with something. I like to buy things that will last and hopefully she can remember me by when I'm not around any more.
Ironically, she wore it when we did the Family pics.... and lost it. 3 days later when I asked the Mrs what she was so crappy about she told me. I went back to where we took the pics in the foot thick leaves and thought this is needle in a Haystack stuff. Thought I'd give it an hour and if I hadn't found it then.... I wasn't going to. As like a sign from above, I found the thing in under 5 min. This delicate little thing in the leaves and dirt which could have been so easily missed but there it was plain as day even when I was virtuality blind in one eye at the time. Amazing. I took a Pic of the thing in my hand and sent it too her. She rang the Mrs in tears telling her I found it. Nice to know it does mean something to her.
Always bought the kids good things if only very limited. Spent the money on one thing they would have for years, rather than a lot of things they would have gone though by New years. That seemed to work out pretty well.
With the year this has been, I think everyone needs a good helping of REAL Christmas spirit this year. If putting up some lights puts a smile on some kids face or gives a family some happy moments, then least I can do is get off my fat arse for a few hours and use my ability to make that happen.
Purely selfish though. I believe in banking a few credits in the Good Karma book for when I might need them.

My sentiments too Dave. Christmas is mainly for families and especially young children, but the rank commercialisation of Christmas really pisses me off.
This year will be very different, and for some its going to be particularly bad. There seems to be a great deal of gloom and foreboding about what may come next.
I am extremely fortunate to be old enough to receive a pension, and don't need to go out very much anyway.
Yup, could not agree more.Cheers, Tony.

Yep, That's why I thought Lighting up the Tree and putting stuffed Santa on the tractor Might be something to remind people what it's about and spread the warm and fuzzys without it costing anyone anything.
That said, Might take a wheel off the tractor on the house side and drop the Bucket and remove the battery this year to make sure no low Life tries to knock it off and put a sensor light on it as well. All that sort of machinery is all keyed the same and you can buy them online anyway so the key is no defence. Hard to move them with No Hydraulics and a wheel missing though.
I think the biggest thing this has all robbed people of is their future. No one knows what that will hold or is game to make any plans atm. Spoke to the Girl at the Dentist yesterday that was going to get married last year. Not even game to make plans atm. Her and her Fiance bought a house early last year. The Practice has been closed bar a week here and there since it all started. She told me that she was on the sit on your arse and stay at home money but there have been cash deposits going into her bank account which make up the balance and a little more of what her normal wage was. Dentist keeps asking if she is keeping up with her payments and not to get behind. She says they have been fine... thanks to him. The other 2 girls, a Mother and a new one have all been getting the same mystery deposits.
Guy who owns the place Denies it's him but it's got him written all over it. He's as Rough as guts on the outside but very much has his own sense of right and wrong as well as being a big softie. Bloody good bloke.
I am the same. I missed going out to the odd restaurant at the start but Now I'm used to it and places we went have takeaway anyhow which the Mrs gets. As Long as I can go to bunnings and the steel/ Industrial Suppliers and have people over to visit, I'm fine.
Some things I just have to see to know what I want and have great difficulty buying things like that online.
