Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I looked at this thing (no other info forthcoming from the person who 'designed' it)

I cant even follow what its supposed to be doing (if anything)

Any ideas or is it as I suspect pure 'magic happens here'

eta the IC is a KA7500B a smps controller IC

eta2 info on the controller IC available here

The question is why would you put any time into it. There are cheap motor controllers for only a couple bucks. This is actually a buck converter power supply using parallel PNP transistors. I wouldn't use that design. What voltage do you want in and out?

Because I suspect that this particular circuit as shown doesnt actually work at all....

I havent actually used this particular IC and my reading of the datasheet says that it isnt supposed to be wired this way, I was wondering if someone had come across anything like it before..

I dont seem to have the pic atm, but you can see he definitely made provision for it, every single resister apart from the two pullups and two base limit resisters is a multiturn trimpot!

I cant even imagine why????

OK I'll confess- its actually from a 'overunity free energy' site that a friend was looking at, I managed to talk them out of 'investing' in it...

Nice little scam they ave going on, they have lived in Morroco for the last half decade or so on it...
grrrr
:-(

Least my friend didnt contribute anything to their 'holiday in the sun'

Careful people will get banned from here for promoting that over-unity perpetual motion bullcrap on this forum. Personally, I think they should be crucified.

Oh I agree Madness, thats one of the reasons I was asked about it, because I 'know about elektric and that kinda stuff', at least I disabused them of investing in it, (his missus has a history of being fooled by these charlatans and has spent a lot of 'their' money in the past)

These ones have obviously spent more money than most they got a chinese mob to make their latest one so its actually quite professional looking, rather than the timber , glue and strings affairs such things usually are- which makes it all the more disturbing as it makes people more likely to be fooled

It is amazing how many people are so gullible, but there has been talk of removing that word from the dictionary.

Now I'm home, I mentioned before about they put adjustable resisters everywhere, here is the pic I got from them earlier that was on my home computer- a 'twiddle till it works' or just doesnt know what they are doing??

Even the ones that are fixed value in the datasheets I found, they put in adjustable multiturn trimpots- I suppose it is to make it look more 'technical' to non electronics people?
I notice now that their circuit is lifted pretty much from the datasheets for the pcb design, but it isnt the one they actually made up in the photo

Blody &%$$#^%*&$&%# scammers, they tried to hit my mates missus up for close to a grand!!

grrrr.....

I believe some people deserve to get scammed. Things like this can be a quick education that may save them from bigger losses.

I don't know what it is with some people, they have such an overpowering desire to believe in some miracle or the tooth fairy they will not only forget about common sense, they will argue strongly against it.

I'm a BIG believer in free energy and use it myself every day. I made 40 Kwh of power today from my solar setup and it didn't cost me a thing. Other people use free energy from flowing water and some get it from the wind. Don't know what all the fuss is about and why people want to believe a lot of other crap when free energy is used all the time and is proven to work.

Of course that's the practical Version then there is the nutcase BS version.
Anyone ever look at these sites selling plans for rubbish contraptions or just talking about it?
They always go like this....

Ralf Ripped off buys " Plans" or whatever and builds the crap devise to the letter. It doesn't work and he says so on a forum or the like. He'll spell out what he did or get questioned and it will come out that he DID'NT try to fire the thing up between 3am and 3:02 am on the 9th waxing Gibbonous phase of the moon that occoured on the 35Th of the month of a leap year when the salmon were spawning in Bolivia. THAT"S why the thing didn't work and he should have known that. You can't go around just expecting polar flux dingle graf energy to just magically appear when you want it to, you have to give it bit of a Kick start.

They yo get some other claown who says he found some barbed witer and a rusty Tin can on the side of the road, coupled it up to an old battery from his grandfathers Miners lamp, pissed in it, sat it on the inside gaurd of his car under the bonnet of his '38 chev truck and the thing suddenly got 196 MPG and would cruise along the highway at warp 3.9.

Everyone will congratulate him on a job well done and hold out his post as irrefutable proof the concept works and anyone that can't get the same illogical results is an idiot and does not have the required faith and is just trying to make trouble.

As long as you conclude the rubbish works, the rest is irrelevant.
Thinks like science and fact and truth and logic and laws of physics and good sense.
Once you fully believe you don't need any of those inconvenient things.
and you can save even more money by not bothering with your sanity medication anymore either.

I'll stick with my Wireless Nuclear Fusion Generator collector array.
