Thought I better open a seperate thread for this instead of hijacking Aarons thread. For those who are interested I am getting numbers to order PCBs to build your own Inverter. This is based on Oztules design but the power board has the addition of Totem pole drivers. They can be bypassed with a few jumpers if you prefer to stick to Oztules circuit. It would depend on the total numbers ordered the more ordered the cheaper each PCB is, exchange rates change daily also. 5 ordered around $50 AUD each 10 ordered around $40 AUD each 15 ordered around $30 AUD each 20 ordered around $25 AUD each You can go to www.pcbway.com and check the numbers the boards are 200 X 300 MM 1.6 thick 2 oz copper. Prices above include freight to me from china, there would be local postage as well. I used 65 cents as the exchange rate because when you pay with paypal you don't get a very good exchange rate. Control boards are around $10 - $15 each, I need to redo the design to include the latest update. I would have to start from scratch in the software I use so would take a week or 2 to do that. So far I have people we have put their hands up for 6 PCB's, I want at least 2 more for myself, a few more will put us into the 15 buy price. Here is a list of the power board components 6 100uf 63v electrollytic cap 7 104 50v 2.54mm Caps 1 10uf 50v 5.08 cap 4 10nF 103 3KV capacitors (Snubbers) 6 100V 10000UF Electrolytic (Can) Capacitor 35mmX60mm 1 4.7uF 250V Metallized Polyester Film CBB Capacitor 475J, 2 CAPACITOR, SAFETY, 10NF, 250V, 20% 1 18V Zener 2 UF4007 Diode 1 Tip35c 4 Tip41c 4 Tip42c 24 HY4008w MOSFET 24 IN4148 Diodes 1 120 Ohm 5W Resistor 1 10K 0.5w resitor 4 47 Ohm 3W Resistors (Snubbers) 4 5k 0.5W 4 20 Ohm 0.5W 24 10 Ohm 0.5W 24 20k Ohm 0.5W 4 10k Ohm 0.5W There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

I'm up for a set of power and control. I'll get two sets if we can hit the 15 pricing. |

I have just been asked by PM if these boards work with Grid Tie Inverters. Yes they do, I am running 2 GTI's ATM both 5KW one has 5KW of panels and the other 1KW. You do need to use some form regulator on it as have done as per this thread. During the day my Inverter is mostly running backwards charging the batteries when there is excess power. I am working on having 11KW of panels connected via the GTI's but limiting the maximum AC power back via the inverter to 5KW. This is to not overload the inverter and also to limit the battery charge rate to the manufacturer's specifications. This will still allow the GTI's to run at full power when there is enough load on the system. I had some issues with the regulator which have been all sorted out and it works perfectly now. They were having arc to ground which was due to a bodged together design and the other was dividing the drains of the MOSFETs where it is on a GTI with 2 MPPT channels. Once I have the numbers then I would prefer payment before ordering via Paypal. If I rip you off (which I won't) paypal will refund you. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

Up to 12, reckon you'll get 20 by nightfall tomorrow. I'll go from 2 to 3 sets if it gets us into the next bracket. If something goes pop (lightning etc) it's normally just the power board that needs swapping yeah, prob handy to have a tested one made up as a spare. Cheers Caveman Mark Off grid eastern Melb |

Add another 2 John has doubled his order, we might get to 20 yet. If you have strike who knows where it will stop, Revlac had his Inverter blown up via a disconnected power line. My power board includes 4 MOVs to try to clamp any lightning strikes. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

That's 16 plus a couple for myself so we are very close to the 20 board price. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

Maybe list them on Ebay? Edit, that may not be such a great idea, as you'll get too many gumbies like me you have to help along too much. Cheers Caveman Mark Off grid eastern Melb |

I am not making anything out of this, the price is very close to cost. You can check with the figures on the 1st post and key them into PCB ways quote system. Keep in mind the poor exchange rate plus PCBway charge a fee that you don't see till you go to pay for an order. Just under $50AUD for 1 KG economy air which takes around 2 weeks for delivery, the economy sea is $5 less and takes up to 3 months. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |
