Hi Folks. I have purchased a batch of these pot's for a project and I just cannot find the knobs for them. Several days of searching on the WWW have come up with nothing. They were commonly used in Transistor Radios and the look like a small disk with an slot for the wiper. I also need the screws for them too. Can anyone help - a project has become stalled because of this Coding Coding Coding.. Keep those keyboards coding.. RAW CODE!!!!! |

A quick check on Sonarplus shows these variable caps A call to them might see if they can do the knobs only. |

Thanks you so Much Peter. Thats is a great start. I do cosplay as a hobby and cooling in the suits are a major issue. Now that very cheap buck convertors ($4) are available I want to replace the trimmer pot with a normal pot like in my picture. With the added advantage of a switch. The fan (12v max) can then be adjusted and powered by a inline module connected to a USB power pack supplying 5V. At full power you get the cooling but there is fan noise. Dropping down the voltage you can still get cooling etc but almost silent operation. Again thanks for your help Dave Coding Coding Coding.. Keep those keyboards coding.. RAW CODE!!!!! |

The other option would be to find someone with a 3D printer. They seem to be everywhere these days . The screws are standard metric M2 (from memory) threads. Any hardware store should have them, although the length would have to be cut down. No biggie. Good luck! Cheers Pete'. |

Just ran these up on the machine this morning... just haven't been able to figure out how to do knurled edges in SketchUp. If you're desperate, or even if you're not :-) , I could do a few for you.. For crying out loud, all I wanted to do was flash this blasted LED. |

No worries. The variable capacitor dials I have here are too large and won't fit. The screws are smaller than 2mm, probably more like 1-1.5mm, the ones I have here are tiny Torx T5 screws which were salvaged (I think) from old 2.5 inch laptop hard drives. Good luck, what's the costume you're working on? For crying out loud, all I wanted to do was flash this blasted LED. |
