Probably should start a new forum thread, its a new topic.

The PWM motor controller wont make a good variable power supply. Its output voltage would change when the current changes. Think of it as more of a variable watt supply.

If you want a supply that maintains the voltage, even if you apply different loads ( currents ), then you need a regulated voltage supply. You can make one like these or buy a reasonable lab variable power supply for around $100 - $200
