Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I had the misfortune to have to repair one of these units. I removed the whole PCB, with toroid inductor by carefully cutting through the RTV material providing mechanical stability. As it turned out this was not necessary. There are only a few resistors plus the switching FETS on the bottom side.

I was impressed that Google found the LMx parts with just the package description. I think I gave it a head start by suggesting ti.com

If more than about 42Volts is applied to the battery terminals, U13 is the unit likely to pop.

Even though the unit can detect which sort of a battery system it is on, 12 or 24Volts ... it does NOT select the appropriate fusing! On 24V you have 2 * 25AMP blade fuses in parallel, which is about twice what the unit is rated at. I would consider removing one fuse if you ALWAYS operate the unit on a 24V system.

Cheers,
