Why skinny? It's for my caravan and has to fit into a narrow tunnel booth next to the 24V lithium batteries.

The following pictures show the building progress:

The last picture shows the inverter inside the tight confines of that tunnel booth.

Some statistics:

Standby power OFF = 2W
Standby power ON = 10W

Running power: 1.2KW all day, 1.5KW with a slight sinewave peak distortion.

Surge power, who knows? It certainly starts and runs the A/C (850W running) and the microwave (1KW running). Both of those did not start with the van's 1.2KW (2.4KW surge) High frequency inverter. Nor did they start with my 1.8KW (2.4KW surge) generator providing AC power.

Size is 180mm W x 495mm L x 350mm H and it weighs a hefty 25Kg.

All my inverters run with two half bridge PCB's and opto isolated totem pole final drivers. I found that using several smaller boards is actually cheaper than two large PCB's. 2oz PCB's are used only for the small mosfet carry boards.

Looks good Murph, nice low power consumption.

That turned out great! A nice compact design.

Looks great.  What's the approximate weight and dimensions?

Thanks Aaron, I followed warpspeeds 1 Tesla (10,000 Gauss)flux toroid winding suggestion. That 2 Watt is mostly consumed by the LED's of the temperature fan controller on top.
Another relay that turns that on only when the inverter is running would fix it , thought about that afterwards but will first see how it goes in the caravan.

Thanks Paul, now let's see if you can make your warpverter that small

Not unless I make a really low wattage one!  It's actually going to be slightly (~100mm wider) than yours which is annoying as it means I can't use your idea of the the Aerosharp lids.

How did you find winding the Altronics cable on this transformer?

If I could use those lids so can you, just stack those transformers differently , it just gets a bit taller instead.

Those black cables wound OK, just the right hole room for one layer of two in hand cable. A lot easier to wind than one fat cable would have been.

Thanks.  Somehow I missed that.  It's heavier than I would have guessed for a 1200W continuous LF inverter.   How much of the weight is the transformer?

Don't know exactly but it's around 3/4 of the total.
There's no way around that if one wants grunt with the power. And I mean grunt for more than the 1/2 cycle those HF inverters are capable of.
