Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

The fractals in the video I linked to for your thing are really impressive.
I just worry about the safety aspect.

@ RFburns - RF really DOES burn, yes it does.... I accidentally got in the way of 50W of RF @ 175MHz or so once, and....bloody hell....I sure did notice that!!!!

Not something I care to EVER repeat in my lifetime. It took months for my finger to recover.....Edited by Grogster 2019-04-30

What about a mains powered bug zapper? Still a nasty zap, you wouldnt want to get hit if your heart is a bit dicky, but would be much safer than a MOT. How big a spark do you need?
The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now.

These Transformers get hot

I have never used one with the high-voltage side in the Transformer and never will

Before I would ever consider plugging one into the wall the high-voltage side would have to be completely out

I have made a few power supplies out of them

I personally don't like them they just get too hot
be warned i am good parrot but Dumber than a box of rocks
