Can a 28kw 3ph generator be used to supply a grid-tied 7.5kw Inverter's signal voltage?
by borrow single phase from 28kw generator while other 3 ph power use in my workshop.as i am trying to work out the best way to go

Don't know the answer to that Dwyer, but most grid tie inverters take an awful long time to synchronize themselves up to the grid.

If your 28Kw generator moves around in frequency, even very slightly, the grid tie might have a heart attack and disconnect.

Its a very different thing locking to a crystal controlled inverter or the grid, and locking to something with a mechanical governor where the load and speed are constantly fluctuating.

These days, some of the smaller generators have internal frequency locked inverters, which is rather nice.

I rather gather though, that a 28Kva three phase machine is going to be direct driven and controlled by a mechanical speed governor. That is going to change speed slightly as the load changes and that is going to be a big problem.

Rectify the 3 phase into something like this, for your single phase work. Just make sure the max voltage is suitable.
I think it works !!
