kentfielddude said   My bedroom is my shed or my shed is my bedroom.

Now that's some serious accumulation for one just out of high school. What kind of storage are you going to need when you're 50+ years past that mark (as I am)?

Oh, and congratulations.

This thread has seriously made me feel better.

I really don't know why I am such a messy mongeral. My father is incredibly tidy. His massive and multiple shed are well organised and have loads of free clear, empty space. He'd throw me out if I stood still too long, he has the opposite problem to what I have. Most of my friends are neatness freaks. If they have " treasure" it's well organised, laid out and they know where everything is.

The thing that troubles me is I TRY to organise things, I have put in shelving and cupboards and I put things in their place but it's a mess again in no time.
I just completely missed out on the tidy gene somehow. It's like I am incapable of neatness ever lasting more than 10 Min.

I just wish I could be more neat and tidy when I try. I can organise things no problem, I just have zero ability to keep them that way. Every time I use something there is never time to put it away so it piles up and becomes a shambles till I spend a day re doing it again. I am pathetically hopeless in this regard.

My wife no longer considers this as part of the house.

And now I am occupying another part of the house trying to finish this hobby project during my limited spare time.

The wife says nothing. So I don't know if it is a good thing or a bad thing.Edited by tinyt 2019-06-18

To make you feel even better, I am exactly the same.

Junk everywhere. Clean up, make more mess. Can't remember where I put stuff.
I drop stuff on the floor (quite often these days), usually can't find it but I do usually find something else I lost or forgot I had.
