Hi everyone Has anyone used the fisher and paykel smart drive without rewiring and running it through a mppt instead ? I know it develops some hi voltage. Can it be split into two and then run through the mppt or even rewired into delta and then put through the mppt. And if so would there be some compromise between current and voltage in the outcome? . Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Kris |

Hi, where is the MPPT coming from? The problem is the max VOC at the input MPPT. just because your a GURU or forum administer does not mean your always correct :) |

Hi The voltage going drive Ihe mppt is rectified dc from the smart drive, the mppt/controller charges the battery's. My understanding of mppt is that they can handle hi input voltage , correct me if I'm wrong. Also I'm running 1 kw of solar at 48v to charge a 12 v battery bank. My mppt can handle up to 150v dc input to charge battery banks from 12 to 48v, this is done by selecting Your nominated battery voltage at the mppt. I though if the smart drive can be directly fed into a mppt then it may say time and effort rewiring the sd stator. Thanks Kris |

MPPT driving a 50 watt load Hi , I designed my MPPT to handle a max VOC 450 Volts DC. Depending upon the RPM of the F&P the un-altered stator can produce a output voltages in excess of 150 Vdc. Do you have any photos of your MPPT? What is the max RPM of your windmill? You have make to sure the DC no load output of your F&P does not exceed 150 Vdc. just because your a GURU or forum administer does not mean your always correct :) |
