Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

Two things that concern me. Small generators run at about 50%, so at 3KW you will need a good airflow to keep it cool. The other thing is that it looks quite narrow, does it have two bearings on the shaft?

Especially with a single jet I would imagine there are quite large out-of-balance forces on the shaft.

Maybe ask on otherpower.com

What power levels do you think you will be operating at?Edited by davef 2015-02-05

Another issue is 1KW at 12Volts is a lot of current. Are you planning to put your batteries within a few metres of the generator?

Hi dave the overheating should be kept under control by the ceramic magnets, not sure about the 1 or 2 bearing thang

So what is the temp range of the magnets??

As all magnets loose power with temperature.

I think your view is a little flawed, or perhaps wishful thinking.

Pete.
Sometimes it just works
