hello everybody,

i presente myself,i'm didier from france (sorry for my english).
i just picked up a fisher and paykel style motor(daewoo) is got 24 magnets and 36 coils and wire seem to be 1mm thick,i wonder witch way riwire it i was thinking off splitting it in to part the first one will use 24 coils rewired in star,the second part 12 coils rewired in delta,do you think this can work for a 24 or 48 volts system,my wind turbine is 2 meters diameter and live in a vallee with a lot of wind;thank's for reading me see you

comment ça va?
this site pretty much invented using the f and p as an alternator so they can probably answer anything you may need to know .
if not maybe you can search the archives.

i build dual rotor air core alts so can't help much
i can't say i recall any one running two separate systems like you describe.

Hi Dider,

As it is a Dawoo and not a F&P you probably need to experiment a bit. I would say hook it up as is with a 3 phase bridge rec and spin it with a battery drill at a known RPM and measure the DC voltage unloaded. This will at least give yo an idea of a ratio you need to rewire it by.

eg - 100 rpm = 60VDC and you want 30V@100rpm then you would need to divide the coils into a 50/50 6x3p in parallel.

But splitting into uneven coil groups as you have asked then you will need individual rectifiers and then DC outout in series ... See Glenns staggered stator F&P Mods . Edited by fillm 2014-05-23
