I've purchased two Windmax HY400 12v via Amazon and neither had any instructions in the box. All three wires are the same color (Red). Any ideas as to how I should hook this up? Happy that I've found this message board and hopeful someone can help me out a bit. Thanks! Dave |

Sounds like it 3 phase so all 3 will be the same and need to be connected to a 3 phase rectifier. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

Did your turbines come with controllers? if so, the bridge rectifiers are already fitted inside the control box wired to the terminals labelled wind 1,2,3 or A,B,C. with 3 phase wind generators, as madness has said, just hook one wire to each terminal. some tips if the cable out the bottom of the turbine is short it will be a pain to install to the post if you do it up in the air (you will need four sets of hands, lots of nerve pills and a lucky rabbits foot) The electrical fitting (joiner) pictured in the instructions is not the greatest quality. It is hard to get a good solid long lasting electrical connection with it, its not really waterproof, its quite bulky and will not take the strain of any heavy cable underneath it. it is possible to fit the blades upside down. inspect the hub and blade mounting points for lumps that will stop the blades sitting perfectly flat in the hub, if a blade is out of line with the others the mill will wobble and shake the tower. The old 300 watters had a post clamp with lock nut grub screws to hold it firm, the pole diameter needed to be a snug fit and the whole lot tightened and fixed with a thread locking compound or the turbine would come loose and fall off the pole. the two piece clamp with the rubber insert (pictured in the instructions) or the bolt on base plate work a lot better and are trouble free. that's about all I can think of ATM. I'm confused, no wait... maybe I'm not... |
