John Tulloch ,(Oztules backshed name),, years ago made a ceramic magnet stator for the LG washing machine motor ,similar to the Fischer and Parkel motor as we all know it ,,

He lent (gave) this mod of his to someone on this Forum for developement, experiment.

I would like to to re-visit this project ,as I have 4 units to play with .

Could anyone throw some light on where this ceramic rotor is ??.. I will pay for package and posting , and give it back later..

Thanks

Bruce.

Gee, sorry members,, I think I got this request wrong ??.

I think it was the "Seeley" motor that John played with ...not the LG ..

Sorry for the confusion,,

Bruce,

The Seeley motor was a complete failure from memory , I threw all mine in the bin and put it down to a con and a waste of time, they are not easily available , the housing is weak and the output is dismal , well below even a F&P .

Hey Bruce

I think Oz did some good work with his Seeley, ended up with a good alternator with no cogging and good output for the money spent. A lot more workshop time than a F&P, but better results in the end. Its a shame they are not as common as the F&P, otherwise I think there would have been a lot more interest in them at the time.

Thanks for the feedback ..

I've got 3 ,they were collected and sold by Dennis way back in time. They sort of looked a good motor at the time ,,but of course, we (some) have come a long way from fiddling around with these motors. Maybe one of the reasons these days is the cheapness of Chinese wind gennies and also the members who actually used to fiddle with these motors are now "past-it".

Oz did a nice job ,thanks John.

I'll keep my Seeleys in my big plastic bin ,along with a dozen F&P 's --never know ..

Thanks

Yeah the F&P is still the good old workhorse it was a few years ago. I depend on a F&P based windmill to keep my battery bank topped up on rainy days, and I'm building a dual F&P with staggered stators to replace it in the next week or two. The F&P has proven itself, and though you may not see many F&P builds these days, I know there are still a lot of F&P based wind turbines up in the air working every day.

Totally agree with you Glenn , the old F&P is a great workhorse and will run day in day out with out the worry of stator burn out , basically build it like a brick sh!thouse to cop whatever mother nature can throw at it .
I intend to revisit my origional F&P Dual design one day and redo it with the knowledge I have accumulated from the years.

Bruce, from relooking Oz's build/mod on the seely which I can remember from way back, the mod is basically around using it in higher voltage output and using a step down tranny to get the claim of 2kw, it will pretty well catch on fire with those amps going through .8mm windings trying to charge a battery system and he does more or less say that.
