Hi guitarbab It's not really suitable unless you can gear it up some how, and thats not recommended, lots of moving parts and stuffing around for a small windmill. It's a 100v motor that runs at 3250 rpm. So thats 100v / 3250 rpm gives us 0.03 volts per rpm. A typical small wind turbine runs between 100 and 600 rpm, so this motor would only make between 3 and 18 volts. For a 24 volt system, forget it. For a 12v system, it will start making power at over 400 rpm, which is very very high! A 1:2 gear step up will brint the rpm down to 200 for the turbine, which is OK-ish. You could also look at using a boost converter to step up the voltage at low RPM, but this may be a bit complicated. Diodes are used to convert AC to DC, not the other way around. What did you hope to achieve with this motor? Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |
