Hi there,

Just wondering if anyone has tried connecting a wind gen to a solar hot water system so that you dont need to use the electric booster on those cloudy but windy days?

I am yet to build my first wind gen but thought that would be a good use for the power.

any info would be appreciated.Thanks

I dont see why that wouldn't work, but I have never tried it. The element wound need over 100 volts before it made any real heat, and you would have to be carefull not to go too far over its rated voltage or you would burn it out. But it would work. If you lived somewhere where you did get a lot of wind and cloud cover, I think it would be a great idea.
