Hello Everyone, Newbie here. I am electrical contractor from Pottstown Pa. I install electrical, solar, and wind systems. Since i have gotten into micro wind in the 1kw class and under i have been trying to grid tie for two years. Not much on the market for 24v turbines, LOL UL inverters is not worth the money to me for what i have in wind so i thought i would take a crack at the China ones. Well, since the Sun G wind rated ones came out i have had some great sucess with them. Using 3 Wind Max 24v turibnes HY 1000, HY 600 and the HY 400. I have made a nice little control system for them to operate to the grid. I have made a custom roof mount bracket for my 1kw which has been installed for two years now as well as custom side of the house pole mounts. Since i live in a residential area i had to find ways to accomadate what i wanted to do in a small space. It's been a long road to get where i am considering i could not just stick a 5kw up and be done. Some of the pics are older and some newer. Please enjoy and thanks for looking. 2kw of wind and 2kw of solar grid tied. |

Thats a very nice set up windwatts. The windmills look good on the roof. Good work. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

Hi Windwatts1, Welcome to the forum! The road you have taken has led you to a good destination.Worldwide it's a juggling act to choose between home grown and chinese products.I've recently sold an American winch for half price because chinese units are so competitive.I hope to achieve similar results and match your high standard. My journey is following the scenic root with no deadlines yet.Cheers Rastus see Rastus graduate advise generously |

Thanks Ratus, I have tried the homegrown micro wind and i must regret to say not much luck, more con artist and false claims then anything. Between grid tie inverters and wind turbines the US is still over priced and not to much in the game like we should be. I try everyday to make sales for RE and use as much components as i can in the private sector but it is hard to find/do.So for now i do what i ned to do an can afford. Thanks for looking 2kw of wind and 2kw of solar grid tied. |

Hi windwatts1, welcome aboard! I recognized your house as soon as I saw your post, some of your early posts on another site inspired some of us to have a crack at that version of chinese turbine off-grid, they have turned out to be quite a plucky little workhorse. yahoo I'm confused, no wait... maybe I'm not... |

Thanks Yahoo, I am so glad to hear those words. Thanks. Yes they do work well but they are particular to what they like in regard to the type of turbines and how the are wired. No good directions come with them so it does make it harder. Some have had really bad luck with them as other have not. After all of my testing i have found they are more then just hooking them up and plugging them in. I have found that the turbines that work very well with them is the 24v rated ones. 1kw and under. A Wind max wind turbine (HY 400, 600, and 1kw) that i have and tested with these inverters and i have had great sucess. I do not have extremley high winds but we do get those occational 30+MPH gust's. Our winds are mostly 6-20MPH. Here is a pic of my system with digital volt meters and a TED energy unit to measure he AC watts comming in. This was last week (12-29-11), 990w, made 3kw that day (24hrs). Not much but all in fun of course. I am looking to get about 2,100w again if he winds would agree. Thanks Larry 2kw of wind and 2kw of solar grid tied. |
