Hello and Happy New Year to all.
I have posted in the past of my work with the Mann Smart Drive that is based on the F&P stator 60 unit. I followed a path of very high volts out of my unit only to find it drove the cost of useing it into the grid costly but do able.

Steve Hansel had been working on this product for a few years just for the small wind mill units. I have helped from time to time with input of my needs in a controller.

Please take a look at it and let him know if it will work for you too.
I will be doing some field and wind speed tests next week with a new VAWT and my High out put PMA. I will post the out come of those test.

Hi Bob

Quite impressive are you going to release kits for the controller?

All the best

Looks good Bob. I think the high voltage and custom MPPT board are a good combination.

I want one!

Having just erected my first f&p and watching the multimeter giving less than expected results, I can immediately see the benefits of this solution. Mind you, I suspect it's not all the gennie's fault.

Hello down under I am to get the new Mann Smart Controller today. I am gearing up to do the Boston Home Show Jan 21-22 to show case the new VAWT and Controller.
I will have a test stand for people to spin up the Mann Smart Drive and feel how the controller works.
The plan is to light up a small doll house with real LED bulbs and a grid tie I hope the people will give me free power to run the booth HA HA.

With some luck I hope some one from the TV or radio will take a look.

I have been down that road so I will not hold my breath.

I especially like the idea of the air cored coil for the buck converter.

Very easy to duplicate, low cost, and it does not require a sometimes difficult to source gapped ferrite or powdered iron core.

At least for us, large final size is not a limitation, so it is a clever solution.

Cheers,  Tony.

Hello here is a VID of the controller bench test.

Hello this is a controlled bench test of Steves Smart Controller A new type of controller for small wind turbines and Hydo and fuel fired power generators.
I think this has to be one of the most amazing product to come along for the DYI wind and Hydro world .
By one hand I can make over 121 Watts from the Mann Smart Drive ( the grid Tie takes 10 watts to run) the firmware is not finished but close.
You can feel the Smart Drive Controller loading the PMA and makeing adjustments to pull all the power out of the Mann Smart Drive. This is not just for F&P PMAs it could be used for all kind of PMAs
