Saw three Westwind turbines on the ground sitting on their dedicated stands in Exmouth WA. Inverters say 20kW grid tied (each) Looks like 30m towers (which were awesome) gin poles etc etc. Looks like they have been brought down for something or other and never fixed and put back up. Talked to as many locals as I could and the guy I stayed with has been there six years and never seen them up hence.... . I'd like to get together a team of interested parties, get onto the owners of them (they are on the side of the road, complete with inverters, dump loads and they own transformer to the grid) Any info appreciated (or volunteers to salvage or fix) Luck favours the well prepared |

Hi Karl ,, were these out at the base of the lighthouse ?. Been retired for 7 years now ,but was in exmouth just before that on the military sites -they may have put some in ,as I remember we had trouble running out of diesel for the remote microwave sites .. Bruce. Bushboy |

Gee, they would have been no more than a couple years old --- In my extensive outback travels during my working life ,,,I am amazed how much valvuable machinery and what appears to be faultless stuff just discarded .. I guess it's why the world is in such a mess today --- scrap it ,the people will pay for it ,don't worry.. oh well ,,, Bruce Bushboy |
