Notice. New forum software under development. It's going to miss a few functions and look a bit ugly for a while, but I'm working on it full time now as the old forum was too unstable. Couple days, all good. If you notice any issues, please contact me.

I have been interested in wind power for some time and have read various things about it and have kind of figured out the basics for wind generators...however, I feel that I am not educated enough to know which specific generator and turbine that would best suite my home. I guess what I need is someone I can bounce ideas and questions to and someone I can trust to point me in the right direction. Please feel free to email me back or even give me a call if you are interested! Thanks! Krista [phone number removed] |

Hi Krista Never a good idea to put your phone number or email address on a forum, it can attract the wrong sort of response. Best approach is to ask one or two questions on the forum at a time and learn from the answers. Glenn The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, the second best time is right now. JAQ |

It might help to tell us what you plan to do with the generator. How much power do you hope to generate (ie how many lights and appliances) you plan to run or are you thinking of a grid tie where any extra power goes back into the grid. There are only 10 types of people in the world: those who understand binary, and those who don't. |

Hi Kristabebb, The forum is a great place to have questions answered. Many of the members make their own systems. You may be interested to go in that direction or you can compare commercial generators with feedback from users. One thing I've noticed from experienced members is commercial advert's tend to overate their systems and give maximums in their spec's.The site potential varies a lot, from one place to another and also how high the mast/tower is made.If you have the time, putting up an anemometer will give you a good reference to base decisions on and can save a lot of money.Welcome to the forum!Cheers Rastus see Rastus graduate advise generously |
