I was reading some posts about timing belts ... I tried once ,but the belt slipped off and the mill went into agro mode stripping off all the ribs of the timing belt .

Sooooo, a idler pulley or at least'flanged' gears should be used ,oh,,, and ,,It's so very important to align the pulleys absolutely perfect in -line..

(the disc brake in this photo worked a treat on the smallish mill ,,just bought the control line(heavy fishing line) down the tower to activate the hand brake ,..

where have you been hiding this ?....

thats a very interesting looking use of a timing belt on a hawt ...those gears and belts are pretty much scrap value in car breakers ....even a new belt is cheap enough ..


the pic looks interesting ...

Good idea Bruce.
I looked at the possibility, but decided I didn't want to tackle the alignment issues on my axial flux model right then. For F&P, that looks like a just the thing to get more power out.
I hope you will continue to make excellent progress with plenty of pictures posted here.
