Hey Matt, nice one. I tried that with a power supply co here in Vic and even after I told him it was for low voltage windgen the mongrel said sorry insurance reasons I can't. Even the bloody tips down here don't let you take anything out, same reason.
Your lucky you have a contact there.

hI Highlander
Try at Lifeline, St Vincent Paul secondhard shops or washing machine repair shop but at scrapmetal you have to look for it and crap quick before they get squash by heavy moble machine as the boss do not like timewaster running around the yard stopping the workers and also fellow workplace's safety rule and this has happen to me before,.

Thanks Dywer, I have no problem getting wash machines but other stuff like ups's and cable I have found hard to get. the other tips and recyclers obviously sell stuff but here in victoria there must be too many bloody lawyers causing trouble and making companies wary of selling or letting second hand electrical stuff out of their yards. We can thank the litigious americans for bringing that mentality over here.
Thanks Yanks (the yankee lawyers I meant)
Why can't people be responsible for their own actions and have appropriate laws that reflect that?

Bloody hell
Lucky for me up in QLD as l have afriend who run private scrap metal yard and l didnt know that much problem getting into the metal yards in Victoria (my birthplace) guess that you are right as too many rule set up by the Yankee lawyer and their money hungry goes in their mouth and trying to setup first Nuclear Power Plant in Australia make me very cranky
