Acquired the latest 48 magnet hub seems to have a different magnet set up than the previous.Seems to have a Smaller vertical magnet configuration.
Rewired the 36 pole stator as a 36dc 1S -12P Delta spinning by hand produces 6 amps plus, have not tried with blades yet. I compared the older 48 magnet hub with this newer hub, and the output seems very similar. The great thing is yes these 36pole stators are cog free. Also this newer one is branded Whirlpool Fisher & Paykel.. Will post actual test results when I get the windmill up & running Cheers Off the grid

I'd like to welcome you to the Back Shed Forum, The new Whirlpool Fisher and Paykel motors are new to me...thanks for bring this to light. I wonder if they will also be sold in the USA.

Hi newbie. Thanks for the update on that new rotor ,have not seen it before ..
Have you seen the matching stator,is it similar to the early stators??.
That seems to be very easy to retrofit Neo's ?..

would you replace the magnets or overlay them on top of the existing ones after grinding down the poles a bit? what would you suggest as the best method of removal if going that route?Santa Maria, CA.

Not sure if this will suit your rotor as this is an earlier one I am doing at the moment.
Grinding the outer plastic of till I get to the steel backing ring.
I then heat the magnets with a heat gun to loosen the plastic bond
I work a Stanley knife behind the magnet when hot and then follow with a sharpened screwdriver to pop the magnets out.
This one was an easy one as it had no plastic behind the magnets only on the edges.
When using the head gun cut a circle of tin plate or aluminium to act as a heat shield on the center portion of the rotor to prevent distortion.

Hi Crew,,
I 've done 4 of these and an LG type rotor .. I've purposely broken the first magnet , then use a 1/2 inch chisel from there. Generally break a few ,,but when you get the gist of it you get them out clean and fast. then clean up with sand paper and a smaller chisel the plastic ..
Forget about grinding down the "fingers" of the stator ,IMO.
BUT,,, I would consider looking at the LG type of motor instead of the F&P... Really , it's a much bigger , stronger, easier to rewire and all round better bearings and 'adaptability" IMO. I've not made mine yet , but have removed the magnets and dismantled the units - A case of too many projects on at the same time..

I see that you have pulled all the old magnets out to upgrade to 48 magnet,
So how did you go and where did you get the magnets from, I have been looking around the
online shops that sell magnets but I can't find the right one, I spotted all you guys with this
wealth of knowledge so can you help.
I am still a year off getting a property to do this on, so hopefully one day i will have my project up and running

I got mine on ebay they are square ones but out of stock at the moment so on my next one I used round and they worked just as well 2 rows of 49 they cost $29 for 20 so not cheap but neos have gone up recently. 12.5 dia 6 mm thick.

Good evening everyone, first time I have written in, was very interested to see the LG washing machine motor mentioned as normally it has been the fisher paykell everyone uses, could not find one in the uk but while looking for a new machine after ours had died, noticed the advertising for the LG direct drive washing machine and the schematics showed the motor as being the design as the PK, had a word with the salesman ( not sales person ) and found these had been out for a few years, looked on EBAY and success, can be had fairly cheaply, have bought four so far and will be building mine as a VAWT configuration, hopes this helps, regards Doc Cox UK
