the price for magnets and steel are higher in here,so i connect a China wind turbine compeny, their generator selling price for гд194 USD,500,just generator, not all the parts of wind turbine. But F&P smartdrive motor on Randy's website is $ 105 USD.

so considering the quality of chinese product,i just nor sure whitch one is better.and shipping to China from abroad is not cheap.Edited by kevindion 2011-01-16

Hi Kevin

The Chinese generators are the best part of the wind turbines, you will however need to dismantle and check bearings and for other internal problems but they are a good starting point.

Generally the blades will be OK with attention to finishing and balancing, they will need to be 2.5 m in diameter to be useful as the ones in the power graph you posted , in the turbines I have personally worked on the electronic controls are useless as they are not reliable but depending on your end use this is not a big problem.

With the f&p the motor is a starting point only and will need a lot of work to get it going, including mast top fittings and furling propeller hub and blades so the cost will add up fast as you will need to get freight to your location. The f&p motor in a single stator will only deliver about half the power your chart indicates.

In most cases we do this for fun rather that a practical power producing, or money saving exercise, with the exception of those living in high wind areas.

All the best
