Hi All, Been looking at the solar charge controllers on ebay, does anyone know if these are any good with wind turbines? I have asked a couple of suppliers and they don't know...so was wondering if anyone has used one and which one? This one or This One Cheers, Paul |

The two you've cited are PWM models - it's been *MY* experience that most solar PWM charge controllers are "fairly slow" to adapt - I syspect far too slow to safely use with a wind turbine of any non-trivial size. (Why? If it's too slow to load up the turbine when a gust comes along, it may easily overspeed and fly apart) |

Paul These controllers are for PV panels it would be a disaster to use these with a wind turbine. Midnite Solar has as just come out with a new charge controler called the Classic. These are the same people that designed the Out Back line of charge controllers. They calim its the first TRUE mppt wind controller. These folks sell a very good product but the price may not be good for every one. http://www.midnitesolar.com/ Jim |
